Absolute garbage. I now know why this particular location never seems to have any customers. I was feeling a bit adventurous and was in the mood to try KFC’s two new promotional items….the Chizza and the smashed potato bowl. The Chizza is supposed to be a mashup of chicken and pepperoni pizza. The advertising campaign boasts chicken with a cheese pull that rivals any pizza joint. As you can see in my photos that is not the experience I received. This particular restaurant didn’t even try. I received some past its prime chicken breasts that literally looked like it had been in a food warmer for several hours. The chicken was covered in what I’m guessing is Ragu jar sauce, tasteless pepperoni slices and shredded mozzarella. This could’ve been so much better if only they tried to melt the cheese and heat the pepperoni, but I digress, it wasn’t meant to be. The smashed potato bowl wasnt much better. This comes with chicken nuggets, french fries, mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese sauce, bacon bits and a shredded cheese blend. This was also hyped as having an incredible cheese pull. I got none of that from this experience. As a matter of fact when I tried pointing this out to the store manager Maria, she didn’t seem to care. I was told that they don’t melt cheese. I then proceeded to show her both ad campaigns for both items and even pointed to the posters they had in the store showing that these two items were supposed to have melted cheese. Her reply to me was “take it or leave it, but i’m not melting any cheese.” With customer service being that horrible, I now know why this store always looks empty. For these 2 menu items and a medium Pepsi I was charged $19.18 , the food wasnt even edible. I took 2 or 3 bites of the potato bowl and discovered cold hard chicken nuggets. I took a couple bites of the Chizza and just couldn’t continue. Like I said earlier the chicken looked like it was past its prime and the taste confirmed it. To anyone reading this review, save yourself some aggravation. Do not frequent the KFC at 1470 S Elmhurst Rd in Mount Prospect IL. This store manager is more concerned with talking about her tattoos than she is with putting out quality products and services. KFC Corporate, you need...
Read moreWent to grab a quick 8oc dinner at 750pm. After taking our order, 4 minutes goes by and the counter girl says they don't have any original recipe to fill the order. We agree to take the extra crispy. Then she comes back and says it will be 20 minutes before they can fill our order. So I ask for my money back. Seemed simple enough. Guess not the shift supervisor has to call her boss to get approval so there we sit for 15 minutes waiting. Did i mention I watched them filling orders from the drive thru the whole time. For a fast food chain built on processes, their's are broken. I was up at 4am, worked 13 hours and just wanted to grab a quick dinner so I could get home, get some sleep and be up at 5am. So to sum up my experience, I found the store to be poorly managed since it's a fast food chicken store that couldn't fill an 8pc meal. With a young adult as a shift supervisor who can't issue a simple credit without her managers permission. If those limitations need to be in place, then the manager better be able to answer a call and question at the drop of a hat. So home I go, no chicken, tired and pissed off that over 20 minutes of my time was wasted because an order couldn't get filled and the concept of just refunding my money was beyond there abilities. Not having the chicken was stupid but I could have gone on my way and never thought twice about it. But from my soapbox review, this left me with...
Read moreMy family went there tonight and we needed to make sure the chicken had no dairy, eggs, peanuts or tree nuts. The lady who was taking our order ignored what we said completely and said something unrelated. After a little bit, we realized that English might not be her first language, so we tried to be as accommodating with it as possible. We knew the chicken more than likely didn't have the allergens, but wanted to make sure, so we asked for sides with dairy to be put in a separate bag from the chicken.
When we pulled up to pay for the order, we tried to ask again about the allergens and the lady ignored the question again, except she just said "you didn't order the Mac and cheese. It's good". When we got our order, we immediately checked the bags and the biscuit (with dairy) was on top of the chicken. The cookie was the only thing in the separate bag.
The allergy questions were for my nine-year-old sister who has all of those allergies and she's sad that some of her chicken is contaminated because of someone else's ignorance. There were many ways this employee could have handled the situation, but chose to ignore our questions and reply with answers containing little relevance. I'm very disappointed and I hope this restaurant learns from this...
