This place is a mockery to Japanese / HARAJUKU crepes. I have given it three chances, and this third time after having left Japan on Saturday will be the last. I am so tired of it existing and taking up space where a better shop should go and yet it continues to garner business because of its novelty in location. Before this establishment came to Mitsuwa, Marion crepes would visit from Japan once a year and bring the famous Japanese whipped cream to make the best crepes. That no longer happens because of this store. Which would be fine if it could fill the void of authentic Japanese crepes but it cannot.
The crepes themselves are well made, the fruit is good, but the economy freezer burnt ice cream and the awful whipped cream that leaves a sickly sweet buttermilky aftertaste in your mouth is nothing like the fluffy signature Japanese whipped cream that brings joy to those who have it.
The service is fine. Maybe the tea is good, I don’t know. I will never try it because supporting this business is keeping something better from coming here. I have had Japanese crepes in Kyoto, Tokyo, San Francisco, Toronto and New York. Authentic Japanese crepes in the USA can be done well—this place just feels like they aren’t trying. I know they know it too because years ago they advertised new whipped cream—but it’s still not good enough. Especially for costing twice as much as...
Read moreIt’s been years since I’ve walked around Mitsuwa’s food court and I must say how happy I am with the wonderful food and dessert choices made available.
B-Bee Crepe & Boba caught my eye right away! They have a great selection of crepes and boba! I wanted to try every single one of their products. My significant other and I stood in front of the display counter for a bit because we didn’t know what to get. This place will definitely leave you in a sweetness overload.
Plus, they display their products right in front so you get an idea what you can order. All the colors displayed makes the place really vibrant and friendly. Great advertisement to attract the customers. Most of the customers I saw in Mitsuwa had stopped by B-Bee. It’s probably why my significant other and I went straight here after eating our Chicken Katsu.
We were quite full from eating our heavenly Chicken Katsu and didn’t want a heavy dessert, so we played it safe. We ordered two Taro’s and we were not disappointed. Next time, we will try the crepes! Really can’t wait to head back! It was our first time here and we have no greats. If you’re in the Arlington Heights area, this place is highly recommended. Since it’s located in the food court, there a lots of seats to choose from to enjoy...
Read moreI ended up getting the Kyoto crepe and while delicious, it was a lot of matcha. It's the most matcha I've ever put in my mouth and I thought I loved all things matcha. Not necessarily this crepe though, but even then it was still good. I'm open and planning to try other crepes (because they look absolutely amazing) and will adjust this review in the future once I do.
Customer service was good and the staff were knowledgeable about food allergies. There is shared counter space so cross contact could happen with treenut allergies - something to be aware of.
I do highly recommend trying them out - it's a very cute shop and it was a food experience! There's a lot of people so I recommend coming at off times if you want a...
