Decided to check this out as it is one of the few restaurants in the food court which is not cash only. I ended up being disappointed that I could not enjoy Ma Ma House just feet away. The little tempura selection was ok but kind of unsatisfying. The soup was good, the udon was excellent but with nothing else but the sliced pork and a few scant garnishes (is cilantro used in Japanese cuisine?) Read moreThis is one of my favorite places to get Japanese food in the whole US.
It's hard to find both udon and Japanese-style curry, so luckily for me they serve both. The udon (both hot and cold) is high-quality and inexpensive, and the curry has some interesting elements like lotus root and sweet potato. One could also have an entire meal made from the delicious tempura they offer - the pumpkin is the best but I'm loving their limited-time banana tempura as well.
I always end up with a huge meal for around $11/person and can't wait...
Read moreThis place is amazing. Best udon you can get in the whole state, I swear. I drive 45 minutes for the Tonkatsu Udon. I would drive more. I would drive to Japan for this food. I would make it work. I would lay my life on the line for this udon. I would sacrifice my first born child for a bowl right now. Do not understand how this place doesn’t have 5 stars, it deserves 7 for the food alone. The guy who’s always there is always very kind and attentive to his customers, and the tempura is consistently good....
