Summertime Jazz Cafe / Lounge — Restaurant in Elk Grove Township

I went with several friends - got a private karaoke room ($35) and we were there for probably 4 hours. Food, drinks, lousy singing. Fantastic time. Several of the people I was with like coming here because they say it's as authentic as you can get in the USA. They spend a couple of months a year in Japan and actually speak Japanese, so we had them order food, drinks, etc. because they knew the best items, They've been here a few times.

Everything was amazing and FRESH. Scallops, Tuna, Octopus, Squid, chicken, hot edamame, Hot Saki, Japanese whiskey, Plum Wine - I tried all that and more. Service was quick and attentive, and the room has its own AC unit - after a few hours of drinking and singing it can get hot - so it came in handy.

My girlfriend and I came here to reserve a meal for our two year anniversary and were delighted to have been treated to an excellent curated menu from the chef of the cafe. It was quite possibly the best meal I have ever had in my entire life. Each course was carefully crafted and the owner himself explained each dish with care and explained the pairing between the dish and sake. It was pure magic. The entire evening was a blast. It was an intimate setting, with incredible fresh and a well crafted meal. I will be returning, and not soon enough. We will probably make this a regular spot considering how great the food and service was.

Unlike anything I've experienced in Chicago. You MUST come here for a meal and drinks. Try it....

Let me begin by saying, that if you like jazz and Japanese food, you'll definitely have a good time as they often have live jazz music in the evenings.

I am not very fond of music themed places; though, that being said, this particular restaurant had a very comfortable vibe.

The food was good, but not great. I had the oyako-don, but I felt like it was not flavorful enough. That might just be because I'm used to oyako-don with a more pronounced flavor to it.
