Was seeing all over my social media feed that people were getting the collectable Tiny Tan BTS toys from McDonald's a day early of the promotion simply by asking the staff nicely. Decided instead to avoid that and wait until the day of the promotion to be officially made sold to the public. Came to this location with a friend the early morning time of September 3rd. Asked for the happy meal with the new toy. The girl at the speaker box said it was gonna be a problem that first they didn't have them at the location yet and says they only received the display which was then proved to be a lie because later she then explains in detail that shes not "authorized" to sell them (keep that in mind). Is the sign just for show and display? Then I asked why the drive thru menu board was even displaying the tiny tan collectable toys in the happy meal boxes to begin with if they weren't gonna start selling them the day of the promotion? So what, you only sell products when you feel like you want to? I understand that some McDonald's locations have the certain promotions at 'select locations', which she never stated or mentioned at all for this location so that didn't even matter. She continues to reclarify herself again to me saying she is not "authorized" to sell them, made up irrelevant excuses saying that this location is franchised owned and she cannot begin selling the collectable toys in the happy meal until 11am or lunchtime. Not even that, they weren't even selling breakfast yet so her reasons didn't make sense at all. Asked for the manager, told me she was the manager and explained (and continued to repeat that) her store manager was the one telling her she is not "authorized" to include the toys in the happy meal until 11am which again is not mentioned on any McDonald's promotions. So pretty much she was refusing to sell me the happy meal with the included collectable toys on the day the promotion that was said to come out. I don't think the girl knew what she was even saying. Can't believe she is running and representing a business, shouldn't even be a manager to begin with. Are you saying you dont want your business to make sales and win customers? The store manager better start taking notes and talk to this girl; she would rather value being a horrible and unpleasant customer service worker than to run an actual business with a customer base. I used to work in customer service as well, a manager too and this was definitely not the work ethic I was taught. Can't imagine if she turned down an entire line of people who wanted to buy and spend money at their location just for the happy meals and for the collectable toys especially how crazy these kpop idols are nowadays. These kpop fans buy dozens of albums to collect photocards and postcards, what makes you think these people would not want to stop by to buy dozens of happy meals and collect the McDonald's toys? Not to mention she was rude, I understand to take an approach to descalate the situation which in this case she failed to do. This girl definitely did not use her best customer service skills to resolve the problem. This turned out to be one of my worst experiences, she was literally trying to argue with me while my friend was listening and watching, he just laughed it off and we got sick of it and drove off. We went to the other franchise location 8 minutes down in Elk Grove. Asked for the same happy meal and they included the collectable toy, had absolutely no problems. I don't think I ever want to return here again and to be served by that same rude girl. How is it that I see people receiving these toys days early of the promotion to me coming on the day of the promotion and not being able to buy a happy meal to get one???? Make that...
Read moreTERRIBLE OVERNIGHT SERVICE.
In the daytime and evening, it's standard McDonald's fare. Not fantastic, but certainly not bad. The dining room is clean and nice enough to eat in, and I've stopped by a few times on the way to work my night shift job for a quick meal and been satisfied.
HOWEVER, avoid this place like the plague once the dining room closes. I've tried stopping by several times on my breaks overnight since 24 hour drive-throughs aren't particularly plentiful in the area, and every time the experience has been awful. The person working the drive through window often won't ask for your order when you pull up until you yell to let them know you're even there, and then on top of that they don't put down your order when you make it over the intercom (at the very least, it's not popping up on the screen that's there to make sure they've gotten it right, and they don't tell you the amount that you owe once you're finished, so I'm assuming they're not even keying in the order until you get up to the window, probably to fake their numbers to make it look like they're filling orders faster than they really are). Every time I've gone, I have to tell them the order all over again once I've pulled up to the window, because they've always had everything I originally asked for wrong. After watching them finally key in my order, I've had to sit and wait for up to ten minutes before they finally hand the food out to me.
I'm usually willing to be very patient with this sort of thing and forgive long waits like that if it also means that the food I'm getting is freshly made as I'm waiting there at the window, but the food I eventually do receive is terrible even by McDonalds standards. The fries are cold and stale, and the ingredients on the sandwiches are dry and rubbery. The time being spent between getting my order paid for and receiving my food are clearly not going into making sure the food is worth serving, so I have to conclude that the overnight staff simply doesn't care to put any effort at all into getting orders completed in a timely manner.
I've given them five separate shots in the hopes that I've just been unlucky and they've been having bad nights, but the experience has been the same every time. The only reason I'm giving this a three-star instead of a one-star is because honestly the daytime service is fine, and most people aren't likely to be up and about during the shift that needs avoiding. Still, for those who are looking for a 24-hour place to satisfy late-night...
Read moreThe employees here need to study their own menu and recipes badly. It seems they have no idea as to what toppings even a basic cheeseburger comes with and instead they just guess every time and throw some random assortment of garnishes on, yet alone any other even more complicated items. Let me start by saying I order from this location quite often, however i can assure you it is most certainly not due to great service and correct orders, because i guarantee if crafting and bagging up incorrect orders ever became an Olympic sport you guys would have more gold medals than World Record medalist Michael Phelps. I’m sure your probably wondering something along the lines of “Well if your order is always messed up why do you keep ordering?” I’ll tell ya why, I order from this location frequently simply due to the odd hours I work and the times I can eat. McDonald’s is close, fast, and cheap and to further sum it up, I basically have no other options that are open at the time. To continue, most every time I order I usually get the same thing, a very basic, slightly modified but simple nonetheless order.
A 2 cheeseburger meal, no ketchup, no pickle, and sometimes I add in the crisp green lettuce option.
Now why is that basic order past the mental capacity of your staff? The reason I said your staff need to study the menu is because sometimes they will put the mustard it’s supposed to come with on it, other times they won’t. Sometimes they throw in the diced onions, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they decide shredded lettuce now comes on burgers, other times it seems they think cheeseburgers don’t even get any garnishes at all. I have all my life never known such a restaurant or establishment that I could rely on more heavily for disappoint and inconsistencies. Any time anyone is ever in the mood for a big let down or to even receive food you don’t want, you can always rely on your boys over at McDonalds 725 W Golf Rd,...
