This McDonald's used to be a good location. Had good customer service and if there was an issue they would quickly and courteously fix it. However, since the remodel that has all changed. Today's experience was the worst I've ever had. And that is saying a lot since it has been going down hill lately in general. I ordered 3 items, 2 sausage/egg McMuffins, and 1 Sausage/egg McGriddle. They told me to park and wait...for three of the most popular breakfast Items! When I go to park it becomes clear that they parked the 2 cars in front of me and the one after. We were waiting about 15 minutes when I finally see a manager come out and hand food to the first car that was parked. He drives away and she makes no attempt to acknowledge the rest of us waiting. Finally after another 5 and seeing new cars pulling out of drive thru, it is clear they had completely forgotten about all the cars they parked 20 minutes ago. I got out of my car and went in. Staff had no clue people were waiting for their order in the parking lot. They were packing new drive thru orders ahead of the ones that had been waiting 20 minutes. I tried to get help, they just held up their hand to me, and walked away. Then the manager (same person had brought out the one order to the first car waiting) had no idea what was going on. She didn't understand why I was upset, had to ask me 3 times what I ordered. She kept looking at the monitor and back at me. I've worked at McDonald's in my younger days and knew why she kept glancing at the monitors. The orders had been cleared and were no longer there. Finally, I tell her again, 2 sausage egg McMuffins and sausage egg Mc Griddle. I see her pull items out of another order being bagged and hand me my food. On my way out I made sure to advocate for the people still waiting. Before I left the parking lot I let them know we had been forgotten about. After nearly 30 minutes from the time my order was taken I finally head home. I get home to find out the entire order was wrong. She gave me 2 ham McMuffins, and just a sausage Mc Griddle. So I waited 30 minutes and didn't even get the order I paid for. What has happened to even just decent...
Read moreI can't count the number of disappointing experiences with this particular McDonald's I've had in the five plus years I've lived in Elk Grove. So much so that I know avoid this particular McDonald's and go to one's further away, which is absolutely absurd considering this is the closest one to my house. I've been meaning to leave a review for a while now considering the amount of horrendous mistakes with orders and terrible customer service, both inside and in the drive-thru, but tonight takes the cake. After what was an exhausting experience ordering our food in the drive-thru, I was asked to wait in a parking stall for ONE hamburger, after which they forgot the fries. I went through the drive-thru again and proceeded to argue with the staff after showing them the receipt, one staff member in particular starts to argue with another staff member and speaking in another language saying he put the fries in the bag. The staff member turns to me and says, "Well, he put them in the bag and defend her employee." Enough is enough! This level of incompetence and unprofessionalism is absolutely unacceptable. I'm tired of giving this location chance after chance, only to be met with rude staff, messed up orders, and a complete disregard for basic customer service. It’s beyond ridiculous that I have to drive to a further McDonald's just to avoid this dumpster fire of an establishment. If you can't even get a simple order right, you have no business being in the service industry. Consider this the last time I waste my time or money at this joke of...
Read moreIt's McDonald's, so it's pretty much the same as every other McDonald's you've ever been to that's in a good location.
Tip: The food always tastes the best at lunch time. I don't know why, but it seems fresher, more flavorful, and prepared better than any other time of the day.
Vaguely related memory unlocked: I think the McDonald's lunch crew is feeling a bit rushed. You can here it in their voice, as if talking faster and with a certain tone might save them a second or two on their time or something. It reminds me of way back when I worked in fast food (Not at McDonald's). My boss was tripping over every second we spent taking orders. The timing rules were so strict that employees got penalized if costumers took too long ordering their food. The ridiculous rules, inconsistent schedule, and stuffing issues made it hard to mentally focus on our quality of customer service during meal rush hours. During the rushes, I spoke with the same speed and tone as the McDonald's lunch crew does. My catch phrase was, "I can help who's next," as the next customer was already stepping up to the counter. 😆 At least the McDonald's crew uses proper English. I hope McDonald's management treats their employees better than how the fast food restaurant I worked at treated us. If you're a fast food costumer during a lunch rush or a dinner rush, be patient and be nice to the crew. They are working hard to...
