Nick The Greek — Restaurant in Elk Grove

Sunday, 6/09/2024 - Driving by and saw Nick the Greek. On a whim, we decided to try them. Address is 7460 Elk Grove Blvd, Ste 110, Elk Grove, CA 95757. Located where Costco and Amazon market is. Upon arrival....

Pros

1. lots of parking. We found parking easily.
2. there were a lot of people there eating. Lively.
3. they have outside and inside seating.
4. cashier was very friendly.
5. we ordered our food and within 10 mins, got our gyro. It was fast.
6. gyro was good. But not as much meat as I've gotten at other gyro restaurants. It was more bready, since there was less neat.
7. fries were good.
8. they have self serve drink. Got plenty of water for me. Lol. Water tasted good. Didn't have that fountain odd taste in the water.
9. there's only 1 bathroom with 1 stall for men or women. Bathroom was clean.

Cons

1. restaurant was cute, clean, lively, cashier very friendly. Love that you can refill your own drinks and bathroom clean. But I wish there was a little more meat on the gyro. The other gyro places we've been to are nice and meaty. This one was good, but less meat, so I felt like I was eating a lot of bread. Fries were ok.

Conclusion Nice little restaurant. Quick in and out. Got our gyro nice and fast. Looooooove that!!!! Large parking lot. Many other stores and restaurants close by. We like this restaurant. But may not return to it again. Not that anything is wrong with it. Just that we've been to better restaurants that serves gyro. This is just my opinion. You will have your own. Go try this place and see...

Another food around the block as another option for lunch/dinner in Elk Grove’s growing population. So we gave greek a shot for the night. While in line to order, they offered frozen greek yogurt. It was something new for me. Their fries were different. We overstuffed ourselves with the Chicken Souvlaki plate and Beef/Lamb Gyro Pita. Both came with a side of salad although the gyro could have been a side of fries. But we tried the house name, Nick’s Fries (first time that’s where we had pork on greek food). They have a big serving which fitting for its price. I liked their Tzatziki (white) sauce. I’m not sure if they’re free to next since it’s the grand opening, but they gave me 3 extra when I asked. Very upset that I even have to write this review but the service I had today was awful. I placed an online order, waited for my allotted pick up time, went in a was told my order was still being worked on. I waited for an additional 10 minutes in an empty restaurant with workers that have no sense of urgency, at this point I was waiting for 25 minutes—still no food. I had placed the order ahead of my lunch break so I would have enough time to go there and back and still have time to eat. Instead I had to ask for a refund of my food to which the employee at register did not even apologize for the delay in service or look at me and said the money was going back to my card before I left. Had it have been busy, I would have totally been more patient but they saw me in there waiting and didn’t attempt to get my food out...
