Wanted to try this place and this is such a sad place to call a Mexican restaurant. I’ve had my fair share of Mexican food and restaurant and this may be the worst ever. I knew it was going to be bad when there was no server and then we realized there was a server but she was talking to a customer for a very long time before helping us. She did this before sitting us down and to us while we waited. We knew from there that this experience was not going to be good. I ordered the three items which were carnitas tacos, carnitas burrito & enchilada with rice and beans. The rice was fluffy and nice. The beans were sweet which I’ve never had sweet refried beans before. The enchiladas was unseasoned chicken, super watery red sauce, and it had bell peppers. Bell peppers did not belong with the enchiladas at all. I took one bite and could not continue eating it. The carnitas taco and burrito were so dry. The only thing that helped was the sauce from my boyfriend’s chile verde. The burrito wasn’t even wrapped nicely or tightly, just thrown together on a slightly bigger tortilla and called it a day. My taco had cheese which felt more of an American taco. My boyfriend got the chile verde spicy, the spice was nice but that’s about it. The pork with it was dry and the tortillas they gave him to eat with it were super hard. As hard as a tortilla chip, if not harder. We didn’t eat it. They offer free chips and salsa but that’s like the only good thing we had here. I would not recommend this place at all. I’d say go down the street and try other Mexican places. They make Taco Bell look better. So disappointing.

VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! The first time we tried this restaurant, the power went out immediately after we were seated, so we left. Our family decided to try again for my husband's birthday and left dissatisfied and hungry--perhaps the power outage was a sign that this place should be avoided. Our server was pleasant, but did not spend much time with our table--something we only noticed once we saw him interact with other customers. Our margaritas were good, but pricey considering their size. Our food? I'm not even sure what to say other than it was NOT good. The tortilla chips were fine. The bean dip appetizer was unremarkable (the beans were bland and the chili Colorado tasted like pot roast). The rice tasted like it came out of a box and the refried beans were bland. My husband's steak and chicken fajitas were probably the best thing out of everything we got. I got the chili relleno and tamale combo plate. Instead of a crisply fried chile relleno, I got a chile coated in an almost scrambled egg consistency batter: thick and spongy. And the tamale left a weird metallic aftertaste. I am normally a plate cleaner, always have been. But tonight, I took one bite of each and left the rest. We chose this restaurant because it was the #1 rated Mexican restaurant in Elk Grove...based on our experience, I'm afraid to try the other highly-rated restaurants. This is, without a doubt, the worst dining experience we've had since we've moved...

Ordered their largest steak burrito with jalapenos. What I received was a dry, flavorless, burrito, that had enough rice and jalapenos for three burritos. Nothing blended together. The cheese was clumped in one section of the rice, and after disecting the burrito, I ended up with a palm size portion of finely chopped meat. My granddaughter wasn't convinced it was beef. The chips were fresh. However, the salsa tasted watered down. My mother and granddaughter dumped so much salt that it looked like they were trying to make snow.

Not sure what has happened, but walking in should have been a clue. There wasn't any aroma of anything that was or had been cooked. The few people that were there left with a lot of food still on the plates. We were fighting off flies, and for whatever reason, the server seemed annoyed with the questions I was asking.

The bathroom was really clean and smelled nice, but he place could use an upgrade or, at least, some TLC.

I visited the place a few years ago and was impressed by the food, service, and atmosphere. Not so much anymore. 😕 I wish I had...

(Terrible service) We are on our way home before our 2 hour drive and we wanted to eat first. We were seated right away and given chips and salsa, but waited an awkward 7 mins to be acknowledged or asked what we wanted to drink and almost left. We ordered our drinks and were rudely given straws when we said yes we would like straws. My husband and I looked at each other and were like, well that was weird. Ordered enchiladas. The enchilada sauce was mild. The beef was good. The beans and chips and salsa were good. The rice was sadly a little mushy. No one came by during our stay to see how we were doing and we waited again after we finished our meals before being asked if we needed a refill. Then waited again before having to find someone and ask for our check. I gave them 2 stars because my husband liked their chips. We will not be back. It's a shame that 1 server can ruin a dining experience for someone.
