Jade Garden — Restaurant in Elkhart

I'm fairly certain the only other review of this "restaurant" was written by one of the owners or managers. I've had some horrible experiences, but this one takes the cake. (as a matter of fact, they can HAVE the cake, because after this experience, I have no appetite)

Start off the evening, we're seated at a table, given water in a filthy glass. If it was washed, I don't think soap was used! The second glass that came had a chip on the lip large enough to cut anyone who might not have noticed it. I think our server must have had enough of us at this point, because we saw him only three more times. Once to take out order 15 minutes later, once to bring our food 30 minutes after that, and once to drop off the bill 45 minutes later. (which we had to ask another server to get him to bring!)

The previous reviewer said eating there was like eating at home. I could see that.... if you live in a garbage dump! The food here is HORRIBLE. I would have had a better experience buying a frozen dinner at the supermarket! Oh, and thank you so much for the food poisoning.

My wife and I, as well as our 3 adult children and their families, have frequented this restaurant for many years. We enjoy the food and portion sizes. The owners who are often there are always so gracious and attentive. If you visit, I would recommend that you take a moment to check out the wall just inside the door, so you get a better feel for the love that customers have for this restaurant. . . The NUMBER ONE REASON that our family returns to Jade Garden so frequently is the WAIT STAFF! Absolutely the best ever. Incredibly personable, attentive, kind, and genuine. I have never seen anything like it. I don't know if the restaurant is aware of the real prize that they have within their wait staff. I am so impressed with the wait staff that I consider it a privilege to pay for my meal and I am generous with my tip.

Most people I know would agree that the friendly owners and incredible wait staff are the biggest draw for this restaurant.

If you have not visited Jade Garden I highly recommend that you pass on the Chinese buffet and give Jade Garden a try instead. I have never left hungry and almost always have enough left over...

I was greeted by Jack, one of the most friendly waiters you could want to meet! I ordered the orange chicken lunch special with hot and sour soup, which Jack informed me was his personal favorite! The soup was brought out very quickly and the main dish shortly after. Both were the perfect temperature to eat, and I didn't have to wait for them to cool off. Everything was delicious, some of the best I've had! Don't hesitate to give this place a try! It's perfect for a quick lunch! I will definitely be back!

Update: I seriously missed this place during lockdown, but have been able to start going again! Everything is just as delicious as before!

Update 4-2022: A job change has meant I'm no longer working near Jade Garden, so I can only get over there every couple months. I was in the area tonight seeing patients, but got out late and got to the restaurant right at 2000, when they close. Kenny, Rona, and Jack all greeted me like I was an old friend they see every day. Even though they were technically closed, they made sure my trip wasn't wasted and prepared orange chicken for me! Excellent food and...
