This place is so disappointing. I came as a close friend of a group and left with so dissatisfaction. This restaurant greatly overcharged for the food that they served. Their proportions that were meant to serve at least 20 people were pathetically small and couldn’t even serve 7-10 people. Not only were we overcharged for the ridiculously small and non filling proportions, the food was also below average and nothing worth the money we paid. The recipes came out to a total of $1,300 for 4 plates of food (two pastas, salad, and chicken) that didn’t even feed all the guests. In addition to the horrible food, the service was horrendous. As our group was there after a funeral and our server knew, she pretended to be empathetic and understanding. However the reality is disgusting, the truth is that she took an advantage of the large amount of people when she was serving desserts. She kept on saying, “I have extra dessert in the back if you guys need more.” Of course the wording of this leads people to believe that the desert in the back is already accounted for as part of the meal, but this was not the case. For every person that got “extras” that were in the back, an extra $8 were charged per piece. This behavior is utterly disgusting and our server was horrible for pretending to be sympathetic and care. In addition, our server knew that we were not from Indiana, meaning she would know that we wouldn’t be aware of the extra charge when using a credit card. Yet with knowing such information, she failed to mention that there was a charge for using a credit card and didn’t even mention that we could’ve used cash which would’ve saved us even more money. Additionally, when we called to ask about the insanely high prices for the horrible serving sizes and food, she continued to pretend that she was unaware of her faults and manipulated our friend by saying “I’m on your side and I just felt so connected to you that I wanted to help.” This was so utterly disgusting and appalling. This restaurant is disappointing and a scam, this place victimized people that were already in pain from the loss of...
Read moreAnd suddenly, I felt like I was in downtown Chicago! This restaurant is a hidden gem. The sign outside to Bruno‘s Pizza, home of the 24 inch pizza but don’t be fooled. The Perbacco restaurant is all class. There was a lively chatter at the bar and TVs were on. The mixed drinks and beers were flowing. The service was friendly and classy. Every detail was taken care of. The lasagna had a lightly salty but meaty/tomato-y taste that made you want to shove another bite in your mouth immediately. They must have osmosis clarified water because it was spectacular and clear and cleared your pallet for the next item. Pepsi products are offered. For dessert, choose the chocolate cake. I am used to a small sliver of a rich cake, but this was a homemade size cake slice. It was so chocolatey and covered with a thin layer of chocolate coating, served with a dab of chocolate mousse and a delicious juicy strawberry . I ate part of it there and took the rest home and enjoyed it for two more days. It is so rich that it is hard to eat in one sitting. There is plenty of parking but in inclement weather it gets pretty nasty because it is not asphalt all around. The aisles are wide enough to accommodate handicapped persons. This is definitely a must visit place hidden in what appears to be a downtrodden strip mall. But you won’t regret enjoying any kind of special...
Read moreWhen you go out, it is something you look forward to because it is something you do frugally. And you are excited to try a new place that has gotten decent reviews. Sadly, this was not our experience at Per Bacco. The place holds at the most maybe 100 people. You would think you could make sure you are able to supply a steady amount of silverware. We kept getting the excuse that they were all being washed. Did that mean we couldn’t at least have a napkin or two? People that came in after us got napkins and silverware AND bread. Yet we sat without anything. The menu stated that they had to reduce their menu fare and that prices were subject to change without notice. The food was ok. Not anything to write home about. Our server took our card to run it for our bill only to stop and bus a table before doing so. At that point the place was almost cleared out as it was almost closing time so no need to do that first. There was a $2.50 up charge for a dinner salad. Got charged $3.50. Guess that was the price change without notice. Then, the clincher was that we were charged a fee for using our debit card without notice. Not a pleasant experience. I’m sure it’s nothing they care...
