I’ve been coming here since I was a kid in the 90’s. It’s where I learned at 4 years old, the good ole dipping your fries in your vanilla shake trick!
Luke’s has been a staple of Elkhorn for so many years and hopefully many more to come.
I stopped on October 10th, ordered a 1/3 pound burger with all the toppings and added cheese and bacon and a side of onion rings! I also ordered a large Pepsi. Yes my total was a little shy of $15 but let me say this, I would much rather support Luke’s than go to McDonald’s and pay the same thing for garbage and regret it in the morning.
My burger was made to perfection and my onion rings were fresh as could be! The service was impeccable as always and my wait time was just shy of 8 minutes at dinner time!
And don’t get me wrong, the location is tucked back from the main road but I wish they had more marketing. They should be active on social media and could start supporting local schools and things or putting up some ads to get their name back out there. It would make their profits sky rocket again!
I’ve hear rumors of them closing. I hope it doesn’t happen as this is one of the last genuine burger / shake joints around with great ingredients like it was homemade and original. I’m fearful the next owner will just demolish or re brand.
I will forever enjoy Luke’s! From an Elkhorn native, thank you for so many years of great food and...
Read moreFirst time trying this place and I've been wanting to for a while. Pretty disappointed. I sat in the drive thru for about a minute or two before I said "hello?" sat for another 30 seconds or so for someone to say that they will be right with me. Then I waited another 5 minutes until someone came back and took my order. I get to the window, give them my card and they gave me a receipt to sign in a bill folder that said "Big Foot Inn" on the front. I signed it and waited another 5 minutes to have someone else come to the window, give them the folder and for them to give me my food. Whole process was around 15 minutes for one "gyros". The gyros itself was okay. The pita was properly chewy and warm with meat piled high, tomatoes and onions to top. Served with a side of what appeared to be homemade Tsziki sauce. As you can see, "gyros" only is one gyro and one pita which I didn't expect. But for the price of $7, it's not terrible. The meat itself was just okay as well. Kind of seasoned but a little mushier than typical gyro meat. I'd be hard pressed to return...
Read moreCalled ahead for a pick up order and the man on the phone was extremely irritating to deal with. He kept talking over me and interrupting asking the same questions as I was always answering them with what I was saying. We ordered some hot dogs and combo sandwiches, and was told it would be 40 mins til we could pick up! I asked if there was any way to get it sooner- we were on a time constraint which is why I called ahead. He told me 1215, 25 mins later, would be the soonest. We waited for the 25 mins only to come in to pick our order up at 1215 and be told they haven’t even started our order yet. Mind you, there were only 4 people in the dining area, all of which were about done eating. I told him nevermind we couldn’t wait any longer and he snapped back “well I did tell you 1230 originally!!!” In a very rude tone like, I told you so! So I responded that yes but you changed it to 1215. He then told us “ok bye!” As he flailed his hand up at us to leave and yelled at the kitchen to nevermind our order! So very rude! Won’t...
