Vasili's Corner Cafe — Restaurant in Elkhorn

When I go to Vasili's for breakfast I have nothing but great things to say. The food is fantastic and the service is great but I recently went to Visili's for lunch and had the worst food I have ever had. I ordered the Philly beef on Pita Bread and fries. It was very dry and the fries were reheated in the microwave. We got our food within 5 minutes so I know the microwave was involved. There was no au jus for dipping and the smell of the beef was not very appetizing either. When asked if I wanted a box I said no, I didn't want the food. Wife and I stopped by today and had breakfast. The biscuits and gravy was as plain as could be, straight out of a #10 can. I told the waitress that the flavor of this dish was absolutely tasteless….. she didn’t care, didn’t even apologize. Didn’t even try and make anything positive. Literally said that you can’t expect homemade in a restaurant….. REALLY????? It’s the little things that make or brake a restaurant…. Rude waitresses don’t help either. We couldn’t even get a coffee refill until I had to ask for a refill when our food came out. We don’t have a desire to come back....

I had to wait a little longer for my called ahead carry out order than I expected but the food was well worth it. It is hard to find good biscuits & gravy but I know I will be back for theirs. I have ordered this from other restaurants & it has been very disappointing (cut up sausage links instead of crumbled sausage & chicken flavored gravy that looked like it came from a can) & you can tell its not homemade. The restaurant was very busy this Sunday morning but I could see that the waitress & cook were very good at their job. See you...
