Still unfriendly female employee..... It was a day that reminded me of a nightmare from a year ago. I will never allow delivery from here again. I cannot understand why Macdonald's Elkin continues to tolerate the unprecedented behavior of a female employee.
One year ago Attention Dasher working in the Elkin Area
The manager at the McDonald's in Elkin refuses to allow me to deliver for their restaurant. This is what happened.
On the first day, after giving the confirmation number for the order, I asked to check the items and confirm that the order was correct. The employee told me that I had to push the "okay" button before I could inspect the items. I told this person that I really felt I should check the items first, but the employee continued to insist that I push the "okay" button before receiving the items. Because I had not yet received the order and was unable to confirm that the items were correct, I decided to cancel the delivery.
On the second day, three employees, who recognized me from the previous visit, again insisted that I press the "okay" button before receiving and reviewing the order. When I explained that the customer had asked me to confirm the order before pressing "okay," they refused nevertheless. When I insisted, the employees decided to cancel the order themselves.
On the third day, when I went to pick up the delivery, I was told that the manager had decided not to let me deliver for them anymore.
I don't know what kind of game they are playing at.
I have been working for Dasher for six months, and I have never had a business make this kind of unreasonable request. In many cases, the businesses I service leave the items out for me and trust me to handle things on my own.
In general, these are the kinds of positive relationships I have with my clients, but you never know when issues like this one at McDonald's might arise. As delivery people we are not really able to defend ourselves against big businesses that don't think they have to follow the rules.
I have always been willing to deliver whatever and wherever, even without tips, and I am now a "Top Dasher." Nonetheless, this experience has taught me that these absurd things can happen no matter how hard you work or how professional you try to be.
I hope that we as Dasher employees can collaborate and come up with procedures that help us avoid this kind of situation in the future. If we can just think of some ideas to protect ourselves from these kinds of abuses, it will be better for us and allow us to act with more confidence.
At present, I'm not delivering for this McDonald’s; at least until things get back to normal there.
I would like to ask that anyone who has had similar experiences or shares any of my feelings reach out to me and discuss what we can do in the future to protect ourselves, because we do not know what unfair things might be ahead for us, and we have no one other than ourselves to back us up.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it, and look forward to...
Read morePulled into the drive thru at 9:05. Ordered food which was quick and standard. I was the only vehicle at the ordering station. Pulled forward and my son told me I forgot to order him a large fry. No problem I can change at window and pay the difference. Pull up to next window and there is one other vehicle there. They get told to pull to next window to await their food. I pull up to window and the girl asks me if I had the order with the diet coke and sprite. Again I'm the only person in line, but I said yes and then asked if I could upgrade the fries to a large. She says no you can't do that its already being prepared. OK, can I place an order for a large fry. She says no, you will have to go back through drive thru, we don't do orders here. OK that's fine. Then a guy brings a bag over and she asks him Is this his food to which he replies "I don't know". She then hands me bag without looking inside and asks if I need a receipt as she is closing the door. Well knowing their policy you need a receipt to be issued a refund or correct a mistake I said yes. They looked irritated but with the previous interaction I didn't trust my meal was right. I pulled to the side and checked my food. Everything was correct except I was missing my younger child's apple juice. I pull around building and my older son takes receipt and enters building to get apple juice. I watch as he stood at the register for a total of 10 minutes with nobody acknowledging him at all. I then went inside and got receipt and stood at entrance to behind the counter holding my receipt out. The guy whom I believe to be the evening manager looked at me then another employee looked at me and they both walked away. After 3 minutes of me standing there the guy came and asked what I needed. I told him about the apple juice. He got me one and said have a good day and walked away. Nearly 30 minutes had passed just to get my order. During this time 12 other vehicles had used the drive thru, so they weren't busy. This experience is why people despise fast food restaurants. Employees are left with inexperienced or insufficient management. This allows the employees to be rude and unprofessional and have a complete lack of care...
Read moreI wanted to surprise my family with breakfast, they live 30 minutes away, I passed by the drive-thru to order 5 biscuits. Once, I arrived to mt airy I noticed that I had only 4 biscuits in the bag. Now this infuriated me. I called to reclaim my $1.36. I spoke to heather and was very rude, she didn't say anything offensive. However, I did get an attitude from her. I told her what happened, she said "when you come back later you can pick it up". I must admit that I was very annoyed about the situation, but I never called her names or anything. I just wanted to exchange my sausage biscuit, that I did not get, for something else or my money back. I explained that I didn't want a sausage biscuit later on the day so I would prefer my money back. Which she replies, "I don't know if you can get you money back". Of course, this annoyed me even further and I told her why should I pay for something I didn't get. The conversation ended with her belittling the situation by telling me "well you can just get your $1.36 back". I'm not annoyed by the money just the fact that I ordered something and I didn't get what I payed for. I will now have to take extra time out of my day to go back to the store and get my money. Take in mind, I had plans for the day and I'm not even going to be in the area today. The reason I gave this visit 2 stars is because when I went through the drive thru a girl attended me and she was very polite. If it wasn't for that I would...
