I saw the response from management, so I added this to the beginning and added to this. It’s an interesting response. 🤔 I came in and sat with my family. We ordered some appetizers and since I walked to the bar to say hi to a co worker, then I came back and ordered my drink and appetizers. Appetizers showed up, no drink, family ordered. Food showed up finally someone brought a drink. I screwed myself by waiting for my drink to eat, by that time the dipping sauce was gone, and I hadn’t gotten the extra sauce I ordered, so I didn’t get to enjoy what it ordered for myself. 20mins went by still no sauce. I can cook just fine for my self, I go out for the experience/service. Oh they comped the root beer. Here’s the 1/3 of the app I missed out on because sauce is difficult to bring someone. (In response to your response.) Ok no. I came back from the bar. I ordered the appetizer. I was there as they were eating it, waiting for the root beer I asked for when I sat down. Before I sat down, all that had been ordered was tea and water. The appetizers showed up, no drink. The sauce wasn’t enough for the onion due to the consistency being thick. 90 percent seems ambitious considering the picture. I ate a bit without sauce, no comped sauce showed up. I waited for it. I gave up. Sounds like you are misinformed. I was wanting to order more food, however I choose not to because of the slow service. I was clear I wanted more root beer, which you comped. You can’t comp sauce you never brought. So seeing as how you tried to make it sound like my review isn’t a legitimate take on my experience, I’d like to point out your response, as far as customer service goes it speaks for itself. No one was like sorry or anything, just “this was the best we could do” you wasn’t really that busy.i like how you brought up the bar. I don’t drink, and my family waited on me to come back to...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to eating at Mattie’s on Mother’s Day, but unfortunately, our visit was a letdown. The food took an unusually long time to arrive, and when it finally did, it was cold. Our server was polite and offered to have it remade, but we declined and asked for to-go boxes so we could reheat it ourselves at home.
We did ask if a discount could be applied due to the delay and temperature of the food, and that’s when things went downhill. A woman who identified herself as the owner came over and was incredibly rude—she acted like we were trying to get away with something and refused to acknowledge our concerns. When we said we would rather just leave, she insisted we pay in full for food that was barely edible.
I rarely leave reviews like this, but the way we were treated was unacceptable. There are plenty of other restaurants with better service and hotter food—I recommend you try one of those instead. In response to the reply- The reason we chose not to have the food remade was because we had already waited a great length of time for the meal to get to the table the first time. And our card was NOT declined! I find that insulting. You entered the card in manually and in doing so you must have made some type of error which you would have discovered had you ran the card again. However, that was unnecessary because despite your rude demeanor and obvious incompetence, my daughter paid for the bill with her card. I have lived in this town my entire life and I have NEVER experienced such a rude lack of customer service anywhere else. It was...
Read moreBeen coming here for YEARS. The service and food have steadily gone down hill. The food prices have skyrocketed and the food itself is not good. I heard they had been under new ownership or management not sure. So I decided to stop back in after a year.
First of all. Why is that no one greets you at the door. No "hi, welcome in." Or " we will be right with you." I get looked at with a blank face or glare everytime. Untill someone comes up and says "2?" Then just starts walking and slaps the menus and silverware down and walks away silently. That is NOT how you great your customers. You are the first impression.
Moving on...
Our server was not happy to be taking tables at all it seemed. She asked what drinks we wanted then was annoyed we weren't ready to order even though we just sat. I ordered the Crispy chicken salad. Its 14.99 for a tiny helping of greens and 2 pounds of cheese. The vegetables are outdated and the lettuce was wilted. My husband ordered a burger which was basically a burnt hockey puck. Fries were cold. I would have asked our server to remake it but she never came back. Never got a single refill or asked how our food was. When she did return she put the ticket down and said I'll get you a box. Never got a single smile from her. All she wanted was our credit card. We paid and left. The only thing this place has going for it, is the food comes out at a reasonable time. Reasonable but burnt and cold.
