People make the mistake of driving past this place far too often, I'm so glad this little business popped up within the last few years! Authentic and delicious, I would recommend anything on the menu! Everything is around 10 dollars at this take out style shack(which may seem pricey or cheap depending who you are). There's no indoor seating here, but in nicer weather you can sit outside on the picnic benches. There are often only one or two people working in this tiny restaurant, but it's only a few minutes of waiting before you get delicious Jamaican food! Lots of meat options, and a really good "irei ital" vegan option! You also can choose from some interesting Jamaican sodas, as well as some more familiar options. Only place in the area that does good fried plantains! The cook/server is super nice, and it's great to see a business like this is east coast Maine! Worth...
Read moreWe saw the great review and paid a visit on a weekday afternoon. Unfortunately, the experience is one we like to forget. We ordered our food at the front desk, grabbed a table but later told the cashier boy we'd take it away since it was quite windy. We waited at the front of the house for almost an hour to get our food. What's worse, the cashier already forgot who we were and had to check our name again though he was the one who took our order and changed it to takeaway just minutes ago.
The food was horrendus. My curry goat was so salty that the sauce tasted like brine. My girlfriend's brown chicken was very sweet and salty as well. I've had Jamaican food in different cities and cooked it myself too. This sadly was the worst experience. I hope it was a genuine mistake that someone double...
Read moreAbsolutely the best Jamaican food I've had outside of Jamaica. The flavors are clean, authentic and delicious. Even the vegetables on the side and the rice & peas were excellent. Coconut curry chicken was spectacular. Spices were perfectly balanced, chicken was tender, plantains were crispy and delicious with not a bit of grease. The jerk chicken sandwich that my friend ordered was also beautiful and delicious. Every detail was on point. Gave them five stars because I could not give them more. Order up an icy-cold Red Stripe or enjoy one of the many choices of Jamaican soft drinks and sit outside at a table in the cool green grass under the lovely shade of the full awning. Do not miss this place. It truly is Irie - and an unexpected little gem in...
