We are locals. We live in the community. The freshly warm baked croissants are equal and on par to many places I travel to in Europe. Including Paris. The ham and cheese, almond, chocolate croissants are delectably delish. A friendly, hard working enough pleasant family that runs and owns it. I truly had hoped that they'd receive the recognition and would be discovered well! It's kind of tucked away and unknown to some. Many should know them and located in the The Village Court in Elm Grove WI. by or behind the Sendik's, OR walk a bit further back from the infamous hair Studio 890! They're worthy of sticking around! Nuttin' like a great cup of coffee and a flaky, buttery pleasing to the palate tasting croissant.
6/8/2023 Update: Although, hopefully this isn’t going to be a trend. However, today we wanted fresh baked croissants and fortunately we phoned them ahead to prevent wasting a trip. I’d always suggest doing this, so as to avoid any disappointment in availability of your favorites! The main & only pastry chef was gone and out of town is what they had told me.
4/20/2024 update: Gosh, already at 09:30 am they are out of many croissant varieties. For instance, like the ham and cheese a lady in line prior to me bought them all up. Wow. If business is this brisk especially on a Sat. morning , make some more...
Read moreWhat a sweet surprise!! It actually looked like it wasn’t open, Sunday morning - very quiet, a little hard to see if you aren’t familiar with the area. But totally worth finding! In the back of the courtyard, cute and spacious - lots of seating! Really clean!
The girl that helped us (Grey) bent over backwards to make suggestions and even offered to modify once we told her what we liked. We sat in the back room by the window and it couldn’t have been more perfect:) very quiet, sun-filled room.
We tried the peppermint mocha iced latte (exactly as described, and they had oat milk - another plus!) It was delicious! Worth going back for! We also had the Vietnamese latte, raspberry cheese croissant, almond croissant and quiche Lorraine. All were delicious! The raspberry and almond croissants were flaky and fresh. The quiche Lorraine was served in a way I had never seen before - in a little rectangle pan and heated up once we ordered. Very moist and generous both with the ham and flavor.
We’ll definitely be back! For all that we ordered (warmed up and eaten there), we spent right at...
Read moreI love local coffee shops. They usually have lots more character than chains. I was hoping for an excellent experience based on the prior reviews, but was disappointed.
It took a bit to find the location which is part of building with other shops and restaurants. No distinct signage on the outside, but there were a couple of people on a table outside, so that was a helpful clue. The interior is a mix of different tables and chairs. Nice, but lacked a cozy feel.
Got here late morning. Only a few other customers. The server was cheerful and friendly. Did a nice job to explain the shop and the offerings. Made me a London Fog Latte to my liking. (thanks Grey :)
I ordered an Almond Croissant which looked great! Had it warmed up a little. It was nice a flaky, nicely topped with some almonds. Inside was another story. Inside was cold cube of commercial almond paste. It was awful. I was going to let the server know, but she was the only staff person there, and busy with customers. I tossed it out.
Wish it were a better experience. Don't think that I'll be...
