Empire Pizza — Restaurant in Elmira Township

We traveled from Brookings, SD to Watertown, SD to take care of something and so I was thinking to look for the best Chinese restaurant there or the other and instead choose to go with pizza!... But not your typical type of everyday filling crappie pizza like Dominos or Papa Johns or Pizza Hut, no not for us a 🗽 New York City, New Yorker!... Looking for the best pizza coming from the best pizza town in the entire world and that's including "Italy!"... Only the best for us would do and so we choose "Empire Pizza"... And I got to tell you that we forgot that we were not in New York City, I mean the pizza was very good, great!... The pizza dough, the sauce, and the cheese all great!... The only thing that disappointed us was that for being in business for so long from 1978 till now and not to have expanded the place/business and hire more employees, well it's just a great loss in terms of potential earnings for such a low-cost run and so lucrative of a business!... And finally that you do not have any salads for sale!... So other than those things as New Yorkers, we would gladly come back to your very busy and professionally run place and buy and enjoy your fine and so tasty pizza when in Watertown, South Dakota!... Empire Pizza part duex : the return of the Crows. We decided to give this place another shot after some years passed, knowing that they are owned by different people. First off, I will say that the pizza is better than the last time but still has a lot of room for improvement. The crust was mediocre , the toppings and cheese were just bland. So not that it was terrible pizza, it just felt like it doesn't take you to flavor town like you would want a good pizza to do. Great food starts with great ingredients, and that is an easy fix for here, maybe some seasonings or whatever to take it up another level. Example, The mushrooms were canned and not fresh sliced. Looking forward to trying this again, hopefully this will take us to Pizza...

I'm sad to write this review, but I felt it must be shared. I love Empire Pizza. I do, truly. There pizza is fantastic, but my experience tonight was not great. I called to order a pizza for delivery (like I normally do) expecting everything to be fine. However when I told them my address (which is within town limits) I was told they don't deliver out here. Normally I would understand, but the kicker us that I have ordered Empire Pizza 3 times in the past month, all for delivery, and all arriving without a hitch or a single word said about my location. Needless to say, I am exceedingly disappointed and will not be ordering from them again, which I am sad to say. Overall good food, but poor communication and leaves a paying...
