SCAMMER ALERT!
My wife and I always tip 20% before taxes and sometimes after taxes. If the service was poor, we tip 15 – 18% We were here on Sunday night to eat some local food. We came to this place for the first time. We had ordered the most expansive thing on the menu and ordered appetizer and bottle water for both of us. As it was getting crowed, we wanted to help the establishment, and decided to leave, so other patrons can eat. When I had walked up to the cash register, the lady had told me the amount was $45.72, without showing me the itemized receipt. I’ve trusted her and handed over my credit card, but as I did the math in my head, something was off. After I had given her 20% tip before taxes, and signed, I’ve decided to ask for itemized receipt. I was already charged the 15% tip on itemized receipt. Even though I’ve only ate $37.48 dollar worth of food, I was almost fooled in to being charged $53.72. When I had brought this issue up, the owner stepped in and said that it was my fault for not asking for itemized receipt. She had deliberately not shown me the receipt, in hope to get double tip. Also I never had automatic tip for a two people before. They said that it was the machine’s fault because it does it automatically. No you have to set it that way. It’s not set to automatically to scam people.
Also look at the receipts yourselves. The receipt already had 15% tip included, yet they want give you options to pay more tip in 15%, 20%, and 25% yet when you calculate the tip is calculated with the tip and tax included price, and not the total price of the food only. Since 15% was already included, when you pick 20% for the tip, you didn’t pay 20% of tip for the meal, you would’ve paid $14.76 on $37.48 amount of food cost. Which means, YOU WOULD’VE PAID 39% TIP !!!!! and that’s before taxes being included. That 20% wasn’t tip option from food alone, it was a tip amount from previously charged tip and tax.
This is so sad to see local establishment making money by scamming people. We are in to helping local establishments, more than big companies, but big companies would never...
Read moreDISGUSTING AND UNSANITARY!!! I feel sick thinking about at the fact I've eaten here before, now that I've seen what I've seen. My father and I stopped in for lunch recently. We asked for silverware and the waitress brought it out to us. At this point my father noticed his spoon was dirty. I walked the spoon back to the counter and asked the waitress for another one, pointing out that the first one was dirty. She said she'd bring another spoon over to us. Apparently unaware that I was still standing there, I watched her spit on the spoon and scrub the grime off it. She then returned it to the bin with the clean spoons. Thoroughly disgusted, I approached the owner who was sitting at a nearby table chatting with another person. I told him what I just saw and his first reaction was that I should keep my mouth shut because other customers might hear, or we should just get out. That is almost an exact quote. He showed no concern at all regarding the disgusting thing I just witnessed. Obviously, we chose to get out. Would you want to eat there after that? On our way out the door we were told to never come back; we weren't welcome. As you might imagine, that wasn't really a problem for us. I would never want to put anything in my mouth from this disgusting restaurant ever again. So be advised, the food does taste good. There is no question about that. However, eat it at...
Read moreI recently visited King Falafel in New Jersey, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by Mona, who is always the first person I see. She takes care of the whole store with such grace and efficiency. Her warm and welcoming demeanor immediately made me feel at home. The staff, led by Mona, was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring all my needs were met.
Now, let's talk about the food. The falafel was absolutely delicious – crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. Each bite was packed with flavor, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. I also tried their hummus and shawarma, both of which were equally impressive. The hummus was creamy and rich, while the shawarma was tender and well-seasoned.
One thing that stood out to me was the generous portion sizes. You definitely get your money's worth here. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of the food.
Overall, King Falafel is a gem in New Jersey. If you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or just looking for a great place to eat, I highly recommend giving it a try. And a special shoutout to Mona for making the experience even more enjoyable. You won't be...
