Shared a great night with my wife on our way to Vegas. We spit a 10pc wing and the Racks burger. It is a small location with limited seating in the back. This made for a cozy experiance. The part of the dining experience that was not pleasant would have to be the padio door being opened multiple times and the dining area get blasted with freezing wind. The wings were large in size so paying around $1.30 pc was not as bad as I was expecting. They were covered in their garlic wing sauce and let me just say that was amazing. They heat was just right for someone who likes hot wings and the garlic was an awesome touch. When the burger arrived it was stacked as high as they could get it. It had awesome thick cut tomatoes and onions with cheese melting between the two thick patties. I was really excited for the large pretzel bun that sat on top. My first impressions when I had my first bit was a little bit of a let down as the beef was under seasoned or I could go as far as saying not even salt and pepper made it s way into the kitchen. They advertised the beef, let's take it one step further and make it taste great. I would also like to have a better quality cheese. What I tasted was "american" or plastic cheese. This is a good way to add that missing flavor. Overall I loved the place,...
Read moreThere's a reason why this place was named "the most charming small town restaurant in Nevada" by the Food Network and it's because it really is. From the moment you walk through the front door, you really do get a warm welcoming feel that screams "locals joint" but still totally inviting to visitors passing through town. Even an hour before closing on a weeknight, the bar counter can be filled with guys sitting elbow to elbow having a cold one and talking big about their last hunt. Of course, there are tables around back and it's just a cozy. As far as food goes, I have to say that it really is a surprise at just how good it really is here and they do have a wide variety of options that can satisfy just about anyone. While Basque chorizo is always a signature of theirs, on our last visit, my wife got the Nevada Cheese Steak and I the Ruben and both were super tasty! As far as service goes, we always find it to be super fast, attentive and friendly. Parking can be a bit tough to find out front but there's plenty to be found around the corner. This is definitely a place I would highly recommend to fill your belly and relax with your favorite drink. Oh, and did I mention this place is smoke free? Yeah, kind of hard to find in a Nevada bar so there's...
Read moreNice little place. Passing through Ely and looking for a beer and some food and decided to try this place. Right away I was greeted by a couple sitting at the bar. Very friendly right off the bat. Then the bartender, Rachel - I didn't get the spelling - an extremely nice person greeted me and offered a menu and a drink. I got there right after they opened so it was really quiet. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich. It was delicious. It's difficult to mess up a sandwich like that in my opinion as a big fan of cheese steak. I was offered fries with the meal but after asking what else they offer onion rings sounded better. The steak was moist and left a juice on the plate after picking up the sandwich, and just a real nice flavor. I love peppers so I personally could've gone with more but that's not a complaint as there's plenty on there. After a little black pepper and seasoning salt I would say all in all I was extremely satisfied, also with the size of the sandwich. This is a small town and a popular place to stay to and from Las Vegas so expect the price to be a little higher, but consistent with a place like this. The bartender Rachel was extremely friendly and very good at her job. If I make my way back passing through I hope...
