Thai Cuisine by Paan — Restaurant in Ely

These guys. Oh my gosh. The summary of what follows is excellent food with outstanding service. We were driving in from far far away, starving. We called to order and thought they were open a half hour later than they were. They stayed opened late so we could grab dinner AND the food was amazing. We eat a lot of Thai and love it, so we’re a little harder to impress. Seriously. Order double so you can eat it for breakfast too! I’d like to mention also, how stoked the gal cooking was that we found her and she was obviously more than happy to stay open a little...

It's been a long time since I've reviewed a place but Thai Cuisine by Paan was awesome. There was some Farmer's Market going on and we tracked em down, I was looking for something light and so got spring rolls (the last ones, shrimp!) and mango sticky rice and my partner got chicken fried rice, both of which were delicious as well as our drinks. The man at the register was very courteous and pointed out that the flower in the spring roll was a Thai orchid—a lovely touch. Would definitely look for them again next time...

I love a Bahn Mi, rare fare for northern Minnesota. On a visit to Ely I noticed that Thai Cuisine by Paan offered a Bahn Mi. When I ordered, the gentleman (also the chef?) described to me how he prepares his Bahn Mi. He reached down and grabbed a previously prepared and wrapped sandwich. I was skeptical, but after a few bites, I was not disappointed. Delicious. I would recommend this Bahn Mi and will be sure to order again.
