Superior — Restaurant in Emmaus

We were a private party served in the private room back by the kitchen after a family members funeral. Staff was extremely kid and expressed their condolences for our loss which was extremely kind. They offered 3 entree choices - stuffed flounder, lemon grilled chicken breast, and a ribeye steak. Each entree was served with mixed seasoned vegetables and mashed potatoes as well as warm bread rolls, and a garden salad. The rolls was pretty good, a little on the hard crusted side for me, but I still ate 2-3 of them. The salad was also good, only 1 small complaint was that some people got giant salads in a bowl, while others got a small salad on a salad plate. They had choice of creamy italian or ranch dressing which I dont know if its made in house or bottled, but the italian was good. Vegetable mix of cauliflower, zucchini, carrots, and broccoli florets was seasoned well. Im not a zucchini fan, so I cant hold that against the restaurant. The mashed potatoes were phenomenal. I typically need gravy and salt to eat mashed potatoes, but whatever butter and cheese/garlic seasoning was used had me finish them before the gravy was even brought out. The reason I gave 4 stars is the Ribeye steak was a thin cut well done, no options were given for even medium well or anything. I prefer my steak or most beef to be thick cut, rare cooked...the bloodier the better in my book. The flavoring on the steak was good, I just dont like chewing on a well done piece of shoe leather.

I would still recommend Superior as a family restaurant, Im sure menu is much different when its not a party event. 4 out of 5 is good enough to recommend and return in my book for a family dinner to get a true sense...

I’m hoping this was off night but it does feel like this diner is a hit or miss. Tonight was a miss. It took 25 minutes to be greeted by our waitress and get our water order. We had entered the restaurant at 7:25pm. She had a full section and no help. We placed our food order in immediately. It took another 40 minutes for 1 grilled cheese kids meal, a Reuben sandwich, mozzarella sticks, 6 wings, and an “all American burger” with chips. We had originally also ordered a chicken nugget kids basket but they were out of nuggets. We weren’t shocked because the waitress seemed to have to tell everyone that some part of their meal was no longer available. When we finally got our food the fries were cold, the mozzarella sticks were cold, the wings were the wrong sauce, the Reuben’s bread was completely soggy, and the burger was very overcooked. I didn’t even bother eating there; I asked for a box and the check and we left. I don’t know what was going on in that kitchen tonight but it was awful. The waitress is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars, otherwise I’d subtract 2.

Also as a warning for parents with small children- there are NO changing tables in the women’s bathroom. There’s a vanity countertop with no lip and it’s thin. The other option is the cold tile floor. I’m assuming since there wasn’t one in the women’s there’s definitely not one...

Probably one of the best diner in the area with a warm and friendly staff, fun vibe, great menu, fair prices and good food. Superior has a traditional diner option on one side with the wonderful booths and counter seating and that great diner feel, and on the other side there is the restaurant option in a warm setting with tables and booths in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. There is a full bar with seating and also a large area downstairs to reserve for private events, parties or gatherings. Love their late hours too . After 9 pm most restaurants close in the area so it is nice that they are open late. Tried their ham egg and cheese on a croissant, home fries, a side of french toast, turkey Rachel sandwich, turkey triple decker a grilled chicken sandwich , sauteed pierogi's and so much more. Everything is excellent and comes exactly as ordered. The food is hot and fresh and delicious. Large portions with fair prices and you get your monies worth. The staff are extremely kind and friendly with fast service . Great restaurant with wonderful menu items to please everyone and excellent food. Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night snack and to go orders. Well worth a visit. The food is consistently good and the restaurant is clean , neat and organized. A pleasure to visit. Keep up the good...
