Koo’s Kitchen — Restaurant in Englewood

BEST HOT & SOUR SOUP that I've had in years! I moved to Englewood from the Tampa area two years ago & couldn't find a decent Chinese restaurant for take out. FINALLY...Koo's will be my "go to" place. Food actually had flavor unlike most of the places I've tried around here. The shrimp fried rice had a decent amount of shrimp in it, and the hot and sour soup was delicious. It had the right amount of acidity and was loaded with mushrooms, tofu, and everything that should be in there. The Subgum Wonton was flavorful with a good amount of the proteins (which other places usually skimp on) & Chinese vegetables (other places substitute with just celery & carrots with some bok choy). There were plenty of water chestnuts, bamboo, broccoli, pea pods, mushrooms & more! Staff was friendly and Hailey was helpful and accommodating when I asked for Chinese mustard. Very fast service. Didn't need to wait very long to get our order. Not much on atmosphere as it's a fast food Chinese shop, so what do you expect?

Excellent food! The wife had the Red Curry and says it's da-bomb! I had the General Tso's and it is too!

Update. Third trip there. The second time we ordered different items and again, very good helpings and excellent taste.

This third time the wife got the chicken and shrimp veggie Delight. And I got the Kung Bo (Kung Pao) chicken.

I've been in Florida 14 years and couldn't find a proper kung pao chicken. The flavors I was wrong and it's not ever spicy. Well this one is very flavorful and just the right spice.

UPDATE: I sincerely do NOT understand the negative reviews. We've eaten here 3 times in as many weeks, ordered different dishes each time, and loved all of them. I wish we lived closer.

ORIGINAL: If I'd listened to some of the reviews, I would've missed out on a tasty dinner. Our food was well prepared and abundant in the amount served. Collectively, our 2 meals + 1 appetizer fed 2 people for 3 nights. We tried an item off the Chinese menu and one from the Thai menu. Both were delicious.
