Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Florida

I went there for the first time this morning around 11:00 and everything looked closed. I looked through the window and saw workers inside. A guy came to the door and basically admonished me, saying they are only offering carry out and delivery and that I should call them. I asked for their phone number as nothing is posted on the outside nor is there any information for customers explaining that they are not open for walk in trade. The phone number they gave me was incorrect and was for a local pharmacy instead. When I finally found their number, not having any data on my phone to do so, I called them. I explained that they had given me a wrong number and I was told (no apology mind you) 'that the number they gave me was ONLY one digit off'. The attitude towards me was very gruff and very unfriendly. Needless to say, I will never go back there or ever order from them again. With so many businesses closed due to this virus, many going out of business, you would think that they would have been grateful for my trade but that was not the case. There are dozens upon dozens of restaurants offering curb side pick up and/or delivery which I will gladly use trying to support these local small businesses, but I will not support Papa John's on McCall and San Casa again. My girlfriend ordered pizza for delivery, to it's credit through the tracking app it left relatively quickly. Cut to almost an hour later, the tracker shows the driver almost in Venice. Called them up and was told a driver had clocked out too take it on the way home, and would arrive shortly. 20 minutes later I call and speak with the manager, who tells me that they utilized a doordash driver.

He then tells me to check the front door step because sometimes they do contactless - it was there thankfully, upside down and ruined. Still on the phone with the Manager, he asks whether I want credit or a replacement, to which I asked for a replacement as we are hungry.

He then asks me to please give the driver a tip, as far as I know dumping the pizza upside down on anyone's door never earned me a tremendous tip.

Apologies for the long one, but the service here has declined sadly and they need to find something else to do if they don't like it...

Simply awful. It’s like I was doing them a favour ordering. Turned my young kids away when they asked for a margherita, not knowing that that’s something different here, just wanted cheese and tomato but staff didn’t even think to offer help to the kids. I as the adult went in and was greeted by ‘name’, no pleasantries. Was told to order ‘what I have is on the board’, absolutely no help. We compromised on a cheese and tomato and staff ring up a large without even checking, when quizzed said he assumed I wanted large……why??? I didn’t. Just a chastening experience with someone that had no interest in helping and quite why they bother to turn up to work is beyond me. If there was a negative star, I...
