Key West Subs — Restaurant in Florida

Not sure how this got such a high review. Definitely not an eat in place - only 1 table and 2 chairs. So only a to go which was fine - that’s what we went in for. I think you have to be good to put grill cheese on a sub roll - first asked if American cheese - that is not cheese - so asked for cheddar- there was not enough cheese at all to deal with all that bread - not eatable. The Italian did not look good but my husband said it was OK. But we had to add a few things to make it OK when we got home. We won’t be back. Also I asked for to go and explained my husband was sitting at the one table waiting for me since he was on an oxygen tank. Lady at counter handled making my grill cheese and my money and when I had to repeat it was take out the younger lady acted totally disgusted. Can’t say I saw good customer service either. We just stopped for an on the go lunch. Food was okay. My sandwich was so overfilled with tuna it fell apart and was very difficult to eat. The point of a sandwich is to eat on the run and I couldn’t eat this without making a HUGE mess. What a waste of food. The employee taking our order rushed us and was borderline rude when I took a moment to choose my order. While we were waiting, both employees present today (April 25th) were LOUDLY talking badly about another employee who must’ve been fired recently. I shouldn’t know anything about that as a customer. Do better and maybe take some customer service courses, your job is customer service. Gossip when you don’t have someone less than...

For a sub place in a strip mall it sure exceeds expectations. First service is prompt and food was ready fast. Now in other places that could be a bad sign not here! They work magic behind that counter. I had the Pressed Pizza Sub and it was sublime. Perfectly crisp on the outside cheesy gooey on the inside. The sauce has excellent flavor and the pepperoni was in balance with the rest. Sorry for the photo of an empty basket but I wasn’t expecting how good it would be. My wife had the Pressed Reuben and the results were the same. A beautifully balanced sandwich. All in all a true gem of a find. Thanks for sharing your talents! Cannot wait...
