My wife and I been ordering from Cholula for some time now and I would say in the beginning they were good. We even got to know the owner for some time. Now its like something has changed because this is the 4th time we have been so disappointed in the food. The steak is cut into paper this sliced and over cooked with no flavor as well grilled chicken was under cooked/pink in the middle with absolutely no flavor. For an "authentic" Mexican restaurant its an insult. It may sound harsh but they cook food like its because they have to to survive not because there is passion behind their heritage. I been to many Mexican places and all of them beat Cholula's by miles. Another thing I like to mention is the customer service. I am always there...you can even say I am a regular. I no longer even see the owner and when I do she doesn't even recognize me or my wife like she has some sort of memory loss. The entire staff doesn't even welcome you or acknowledges you're there. They take your order and don't even know what you are even ordering when its on the menu. Good luck if they receive a phone call because they do not place the person on the phone on hold...they put you on hold when you got there first. By the time you are done ordering 10-15 min has passed by. Staff is very dry and look miserable all the time which makes you feel uncomfortable and un-welcomed. I always feel like my money is going to nothing but a waste. As said I have always ordered and ate in at Chalula's and have always been disappointed in the food quality. They do not even know where their food comes from which is sad. You ask where the shrimp is from and they have no clue...not even the chef. The list goes on and at first I thought maybe we were being picky. Until we became a regular customer and it was just sad each time we went in. Save your time and money!!! Read moreIt’s very rare that I write Google reviews for anything, but this experience was such a let down I feel obligated to make one. Our experience started out fine in the outdoor area with some solid appetizers (empanadas). After a while however, we noticed that it was taking a while for our food to come out. Eventually, we noticed a bigger party that arrived about 10 minutes after us had already received and eaten most of their food. A different server came over to our table and asked if we wanted anything else and was surprised to hear that we did not get any of our entrees yet. She disappears inside and only returns to serve other tables, not telling us anything. This prompted us to go inside where our waiter from before told us “two minutes.” Our food finally came out about 45 minutes after we initially placed the order and was incredibly underwhelming. The ground beef was burnt and dry and the birria tacos had veins in them. At this point we just wanted to pay and leave. Since our waiter had been so inattentive to us, we decided to just go inside to pay. We walked up to the counter and said hi to our waiter, who did not even look up from his screen and started billing us, leaving a 10% gratuity for himself. Appalling experience with rude, inattentive staff and subpar food.

Read moreUpdate: I placed an online order tonight. I got the confirmation texts, my card was charged, and I even got the text that it was ready to pickup. I go to pickup the order and after 10 minutes of standing at the counter, they tell me they don’t have my order. I show them the texts confirming. They tell me “that’s not our restaurant” I then again show them the confirmation text confirming their address and phone number. I wait 10 minutes for a manager. He asks to see the confirmation again, and then plays around on the computer for a few minutes. Eventually he says “sorry we don’t have your order”. I click the link in the confirmation text for assistance and it prompts me to call the restaurant. After 30 minutes of waiting in store, they just tell me “sorry, you’ll have to just dispute the charge with your credit card.” So thanks for wasting 30 minutes of my evening and not having ANY solutions. I’ll now be spending even more time filing the charge they put on my credit card. Extremely disappointed after I have had such great previous experiences.
