I used to bring my granddaughter every Sunday after church. As everyone knows, going to any restaurant during lunchtime, there will be a wait (30-40 minutes). No big deal, as the food and service were always spot on. Unfortunately, after 3 visits in a row, the food & service (even the host) fell short. After a few months of going elsewhere on Sundays, my granddaughter really wanted to go to Hideaway. This time we went after lunchtime and there wasn't a wait. BUT, we waited at our table 10 minutes BEFORE we were asked what we wanted to drink. Of course, we already knew what we wanted, so we ordered at the same time. My granddaughter got the kids' spaghetti & meatballs & I got the meatball hero. My granddaughter took 5 bites and pushed her meal aside. All she said it wasn't that good. My sandwich tasted like the meatballs were a week old. Our server didn't come back to ask us how our meal was & refill our drinks. I would have flagged her or someone down, but we were in a room off to the side of the main dining area, so we didn't see anyone. The tables in the room with us were done when we sat down & were just visiting with each other, once they got up that when we saw our server. She walked right by us and went to the empty tables to FIRST look for a tip & then she started to clean. I called for her and gave her my card to pay, so we can leave. That's the only time she came to our table after we got our food. No, I didn't complain or say anything. I would have walked out before we ordered, but my granddaughter really wanted Hideaway & I didn't want to ruin her lunch as she was excited just to be there. So...
Read moreWent for a Saturday lunch with my husband and was promptly sat near the fireplace. We noticed there were two large groups in our area and we're prepared to be patient.
Over ten minutes later we are still sat at our table, menus down and not once had a single employee approached us, despite many having walked around our table or stood in groups at their stations.
We'd have been happy with a tossed out, 'Hi, I'll get with you guys as soon as I can' because we get that servers have a lot going on, especially when their are groups, but we shouldn't have to be a large party to get even basic service, so we made the decision to leave.
UPDATE: Went on 11/7/22, and it was a totally different experience. Server promptly checked in with us and great service throughout the entire lunch.
There was a minor issue with my pizza, a glaze added that didn't belong, which they informed us about and made another. Honestly I'd never would have notice nor would I have complained if I had, but it was nice to see that the manager, Chris (I think please excuse me if I got that wrong) really cared about what the kitchens were getting out and that customers were taken care of.
So I wanted to update the review, as it isn't fair to the places or readers, to only talk about bad stuff that may happen and never put that same energy in sharing when...
Read moreThe pizza was really good. I had the Capone, a specialty pizza with plenty of meat on hand tossed crust with black olives. I enjoyed the pizza and the mozzerella sticks with marinara and ranch dipping sauce.
It is a very clean, and lively restaurant with a good sports theme atmosphere. Plenty of sports venues on the TVs that abound on the walls and entertaining videos on ChiveTV.
My wife had a ham and pineapple pizza on thin crust. It too was very tasty. The sauce has a sweetness about it that makes love to the palate.
My only concern was the service. The drinks came in small souvenir cups loaded with ice. I had to get mine refilled three times to feel like I had an actual large drink. And those refills took me asking on both occasions as the waitress was not able to pay attention adequately. She also brought us the wrong appetizer and brought my wife a larger pizza than she ordered which we ended up paying for. I hope the service improves. I will come back to have more of the food but hope the...
