I went to The Broken Yolk for the first time Wednesday morning and had a 5 star experience! The interior is well-designed and clean, with a surplus of booths and large windows that bring in natural light. The exterior has a lovely outdoor patio. The food was great! I got a breakfast burrito, my boyfriend got country-fried steak, and we both loved our meals! Something I found unique to The Broken Yolk was that the bacon in the breakfast burrito was broken down into smaller pieces, and I don’t know why it made the bacon taste better than bacon usually does!! The home fries were cut into an almost potato chip au gratin shape, which I also preferred because thinner slices of potatoes lead to crispier potatoes. Overall, the food options were extensive, and they had something on the menu for everyone. I will definitely be taking family members here when they come to visit! Now, the real star of the show was our server, Brotha T! He is literally the best, and I love his enthusiasm! His empathy is unparalleled. He could tell in seconds we had never dined at The Broken Yolk before, and gave us a brilliant explanation of the menu. Another thing my boyfriend and I were impressed by was when Brotha T came by to check in on us. He asked how things were going. We responded, “good.” His reply was, “Is there anything that could make it better?” We found this brilliant! That response really implies any requests are welcome. He clearly wants to ensure you’re having a wonderful experience. Getting seated with a server who has positive energy and is eager to make sure you’re enjoying your experience is honestly rare. It is such a blessing that we got the opportunity to have Brotha T as our server!! He is beyond an exceptional server; he is a charismatic people person and is an amazing communicator! The Broken Yolk is so fortunate to have Brotha T on...
Read moreI had a delightful breakfast at The Broken Yolk, a charming eatery that exuded a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the El Fuego Omelet, which turned out to be one of the most memorable dishes I have ever tasted.
From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the inviting ambiance of the restaurant. The décor was tastefully done, and the seating arrangements were thoughtfully arranged to create a relaxed and comfortable dining experience. The service was exceptional, with the friendly and attentive staff ensuring I had everything I needed to make my meal enjoyable.
Now, let's talk about the El Fuego Omelet. The dish was an actual work of art, with a rich medley of flavors that blended seamlessly to create an unforgettable taste. The omelet was generously filled with diced jalapeños, spicy chorizo, and pepper jack cheese, creating a fiery explosion of flavors with every bite. The jalapeños added a spicy kick balanced perfectly by the richness of the chorizo, and the pepper jack cheese added a creamy and tangy element to the dish.
The El Fuego Omelet was presented beautifully, with the home fries perfectly beside it. The home fries were perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and a soft and fluffy interior. The portion size was also generous, leaving me completely satisfied after my meal.
Overall, my experience at The Broken Yolk was exceptional, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast or brunch option. The El Fuego Omelet was the highlight of my meal and a must-try for anyone visiting the restaurant. The Broken Yolk has undoubtedly earned its reputation as a culinary gem, and I can't wait to go back and try more of its...
Read moreHands down my worst breakfast experience in 8 years of living in Vegas. I ordered the Huevos con Chorizo with a side of hash browns. The waiter brought out just the eggs and the hash browns, with no rice, no beans, no tortillas. When he came back around to check if everything was OK (at least 10 minutes later) I informed him I was missing half of my breakfast. He came back from the kitchen another 5 minutes later with just the rice and the beans, no tortillas. At this point I was done eating my eggs so I just ended up with an unappetizing bowl of rice and beans with no tortillas. I informed him again that I was still missing food but didn’t want it now, it was too late. We asked for more water, because they hadn’t been filled up since we first got sat. That took another 15 minutes.
Eventually they brought the check which had the cheek to include my breakfast on it. When I told the waiter I wasn’t paying for a breakfast I didn’t get, he sent over his manager who asked me “for my side of the story” (!) as if there was some misunderstanding about paying for food and not receiving it. He told me he was going to comp the breakfast initially (so why was it on the check that got brought over??) and he was generally quite condescending about the whole situation.
I’ll never go back. Egg works, Rise & Shine, Keke’s, Neighbors, Early Bird’s all knock Broken Yolk out of the park when it comes to service and...
