Title: Yelled at, harassed, and discriminated against while escorting my girlfriend with my service dog – Burger King Las Vegas
On Saturday, August 30, 2025, around 3:00 p.m., I entered this Burger King to escort my girlfriend to the restroom. She has her own disabilities, and I was simply there to accompany her. I carried my service dog in my arm, as I always do.
I had been in the restaurant for about five minutes when an employee, Dezell Jones suddenly began yelling at me from behind the counter. This man was working in the food prep area without a hairnet and without gloves, which is itself a health-code violation. Yet instead of handling food properly, he fixated on me and shouted that “service animals are not welcome at Burger King.”
He ordered me to leave immediately and threatened to call the police or physically remove me. He appeared inebriated, unfocused, and slow to respond — unable to register what I was calmly saying to him. I remained monotone and composed, explaining more than 50 times that this was my service dog. I even showed identification (which I am not legally required to do), and he still ignored it, continuing to harass and threaten me in front of other customers.
Why this is unlawful and unacceptable:
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III (28 C.F.R. § 36.302(c)) requires restaurants to allow service dogs. Staff may only ask:
Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
They cannot demand paperwork, ask about a person’s disability, or deny access unless the dog is out of control or not housebroken.
Nevada Law (NRS 651.075 & NRS 426.510) confirms the same: service animals must be admitted to all public places, and proof cannot be required.
This employee violated every part of the law. He yelled at me, threatened me, ignored my explanations, and humiliated me — all while openly breaking food-safety standards himself.
As a U.S. Navy veteran and brain cancer survivor, and as someone escorting a loved one with her own disabilities, I should never have been treated this way. Burger King management must:
Review the security footage from 2:45–3:30 p.m. on August 30, 2025.
Retrain all staff immediately on ADA and Nevada service-animal laws.
Enforce proper food-safety standards in their kitchen.
This was harassment, discrimination, and a violation of both disability rights and food safety. Customers with disabilities — and their families — deserve far...
Read moreThis place is beyond unprofessional. This evening I ordered three meals. When I got home after spending close to $40, The fries and the medium sized request were halfway filled, and the new special burger with bacon was not prepared as advertised. When I made an inquiry, I was told that they didn’t have the sauce. I then been asked, why was I not informed prior to the order and I was told that they can still sell it without the special sauce. When I drove up to the window, two young men were cursing at each other, playing in full view of the customers driving up to the window to receive their food. When I described that the order was not prepared correctly, upon getting home ten minutes later, I was told to bring the food back for a refund. I informed them that I did not want my money back but wanted the meals be made correctly. I specifically asked upon ordering the three meals that the meal be made cooked to order. Clearly, this did not occur. I was told by the manager that if I want something done with regards to remedying the matter to bring the food back. I told them that I had an engagement to attend and could not return this evening, but could return the next day. However, that was not acceptable to the manager, who refused to give me his name and hung up on me upon my request for his name. He said if I didn’t like the service to contact Management at the Corporate level. I told him that this was very unprofessional customer service. All I wanted it was for the food to be made correctly because the fries were not made according to how fresh fries are made at Burger King. When the fries are made fresh, they are absolutely delicious and this was not the case. I have never done a write up of this particular location until today. Moreover, I will also be contacting Corporate and not returning to this location. I advise that if you want decent Burger King food, do not go to the location located in the Albertsons parking lot in...
Read moreWent on March 19th, 2018. I used the mobile order thing. Everything worked fine and it was around 9-10pm so it was the closing staff. Anyway we get there and we get down to let them know that we ordered off the mobile app and gave the name since that was the apps directions. We asked if we go through drive thru or not and they said drive thru. We go through drive thru and the lady, I’m assuming the manager, was pretty rude about the whole situation. No customer service at all. Anyway she said they didn’t receive our order and stuff and my card was already charged. The manager didn’t offer us any solution, apology, refund, or bother to retake our order. She just kept explaining over and over again about how they didn’t recieve our order and We showed her my iPad to prove that we ordered off the app and she looked at us like we were stupid and she legit dragged the cashier computer thing around so we can see the screen to show us that our order wasn’t there, definitely a “what do you want me to do about it 😑🙄“ type of tone!! Like what helll who does that!? Anyway she obviously wasn’t going to help us out with our order, but one of the other employee found our order at least and to top it off my burger was missing mustard when I asked for it and they even confirmed with the cook if they added the mustard and they said yeah, but there was none. So yeah customer service sucks pretty bad. Rather drive an extra 10 min to the other location where they actually care. Oh and then after the ordeal they told us for next time with mobile order pick up, you don’t go through drive thru ,you have to get down 😑😑😑we got down in the first place and they knew we had a mobile order and they told us to go through the drive thru, so I don’t know . Damn night time shift people are a mess!! Retrain or hire a...
