I am writing to express my absolute disgust and disappointment regarding my recent experience at the Waffle House in Enterprise, Alabama. After a grueling six-hour drive, my family and I arrived at this location at 9:45 PM on February 28, 2025, seeking a warm meal and a moment of rest before funeralizing my grandmother. However, what we encountered was beyond unacceptable—it was a complete disgrace to the Waffle House brand and a serious public health concern.
Despite the posted sign stating that dine-in service was available until 11 PM, the restaurant was effectively uninhabitable. Only five tables were available, all occupied by teenagers, while the rest of the dining area was covered in piles of dirty dishes. The bar/counter was overflowing with more filth than all the tables combined, and the stench of garbage permeated the air. This was not an issue of understaffing—I personally counted at least seven employees standing around, seemingly indifferent to the appalling conditions.
When I questioned one of the employees about the state of the restaurant, I was met with an admission that the mess was intentional—a calculated effort to discourage dine-in customers, force takeout orders (along with the added surcharge and mandatory tip), and ensure that no one could sit down before closing at 11 PM. This is not only unethical but completely inexcusable.
Waffle House corporate, the local health department, and any relevant oversight committees must take immediate action to address this shocking negligence. The conditions of this location are a blatant health code violation and a stain on the reputation of a brand that so many travelers and late-night diners rely on. My family and I will never return, and I urge others to steer clear of this establishment until serious corrective measures are taken.
I expect a prompt response outlining the steps being taken to rectify this situation. Anything less would be a failure of corporate...
Read moreToday is 31 Jul 12, 0120. Sat down beside a friend and asked how he was doing. He stated that he's gonna leave a few more min if I don't get any service, few min he left. Couple waitresses said, where did he go? I stated that that he left because no one acknowledge him, one waitress stated oh, I didn't know he was sitting there. I said really? They walked passed us several times. People walked in and that all send, hello. Then I asked the waitress, is there anyone responsible for this area? Didn't realized that it was mine, i thought it was the other waitress. So I ordered. Received my coffee. Waited now it's 1:35, my waitress assisted the other waitresses. As i asked if my orders been called in and she replied, no not yet. OmG. So I asked that's ok, disregard my order. Been waiting, they are not busy, tables are not cleaned. Wow. Paid for my coffee and left. I'm sorry that this place is getting worse. I remember that they were always busy, not anymore. Thought I try it out again, but it got worse, no sense if urgency for customers. Thanks waffle house. Just lost another...
Read moreI have been a patron of the Enterprise Waffle House for 20 years, usually in the late night/ early mornings due to schedules and sleep patterns. There have been many memorable experiences and employees for sure, most have been quite entertaining. My current preferred server, Ashlynn, has learned my weird, picky requests and is attentive to all matters of customer service. Her patience and kindness has been unmatched by any former representative. I have been hesitant to stop in for meals due to the inexperienced new cook that seemingly has a few things to repair in personal life, and training on cook times and grill cleaning. I have managed to find items that are harder to mess up, and Miss Ashlyn can whip up a pretty decent bowl of cheese grits and waffles :) I hope that things begin to improve overall under new management, but they need to get a cook in there that can make a good omelette or bomb hash browns without getting what looks like soot from burned grill. Over all, the customer service is currently better...
