Bananas Karaoke — Restaurant in Enterprise

I drove over to Bananas karaoke bar July 6, 2018 as I heard it was a good place for karaoke. I got there early so I checked out the facilities, sound system, video monitors and general karaoke setup. They have some nice equipment so I was really excited for karaoke to start especially since this bar is billed as a Karaoke Bar. While waiting for karaoke, my friend and I chatted with the bartender who was very nice and personable (and attentive). Once karaoke started, the KJ and his partner sang a song each to get karaoke going. The sound system was very clear and punchy. Vocals were loud and intelligible. The clear sound was nice to hear. I thought this was going to be a great karaoke experience. That was best of it. On to the worst of it. Once the KJ called up a singer, he immediately turned down the singer's mic where you could not even hear or understand a word she was saying. Additionally, what you COULD hear was equalized poorly. I thought maybe there was something wrong with her mic. I was dumbfounded that a KJ/DJ could let this continue without fixing the situation. After several attempts trying to get his attention, I gave up as the song was over. My friend was called as the next singer. Once again, the KJ kept her vocal mic so low that she later told me she was at the limit of her vocal cords to just to be able to hear herself on stage. Sitting at the bar I almost couldn't hear her at all as the music continually drowned her out. So I look at the KJ and both guys are more interested in playing with their phone and laptop while the music totally drowns out the vocalist as if they could care less. The bar is clean, tastefully decorated and run by some nice bartenders but management should seriously consider upgrading KJs to someone who actually cares about how their singers sound not just themselves. To totally drown out the very people who are performing for YOU(and paying your paycheck) is the ultimate disrespect to your singers.

Bananas has been a hangout spot for my friends and I for years. After the experience I had this Saturday evening, I will never be returning to this establishment.

Showing up with a group of friends, one of the people in the party was rejected entry due to having a paper ID during the ID check. It was explained to the ID checker that she had just moved to the area from out of state and just switch her out of state license over to a in state, in which she was issued a paper license. The ID checker stated that it was a valid ID but still refused to allow entry. She then said ( the id checker) if she had the other license, the out of state one, that she could let her in. We told her that the license from out of state was VOIDED due to her transferring the license over. That did not seem to matter, so we left and got her VOIDED ID and returned.

While looking over the out of state license and the new paper license the ID checker declared that it was not a valid due to the license numbers not matching up. It was then explained to her and her manager that they are both valid ids and and reason the numbers do not match is because when transferring to a new state you are reissued a new license number. Again to no avail.

While I have no issues with a establishment rejecting an ID if it is suspicious ( But a paper ID that is issued ) is not suspicious. When clearly explained and back up by evidence is just sheer ignorance. This has been demonstrated by the staff, management and ownership and is mind blowing. I would encourage anyone that is considering to spend there money here to find another...

Bananas Karaoke isn’t a bad place, to hang out with friends, family and colleagues, especially when you are visiting the area. The only problem for visitors out of town visiting the establishment for the first time is the fact that the staff was rude, and unprofessional, but what do you expect. I will not recommend this establishment for anyone who is coming to Ft. Rucker in or the area on business to patronize this establishment. We had a better experience during Karaoke on Friday night At Rumors in Level Plains. Comparing the two establishments Rumors employees are professional and welcoming.
