To preface this review, I will say that I dined here late In the day, only an hour before close, so that may be the reason for my experience.
We will start with the good aspects - the customer service is good, the Staff that I spoke with were nice enough people, and quick to help if need be. The atmosphere is nice, but as I was there late I can't say how good or bad it is during the more busy times.
Now, on to the bad. Starters- The "salsa" itself tastes more like pizza sauce than actual salsa, very bland (this is a theme) with the main flavor being pureed tomato. No flavors of cilantro or jalapeño, no spice. This I am sure was canned, and just dumped into a dipping bowl.
I had a burrito and enchilada. Both of with were satisfactory in the fact that they are, in fact, food. They have nutrition, but once again, very bland. I received the wrong type of meat with my first order and asked for it to be replaced with the correct order. My correct meal was delivered within a minute or two. That's fast, too fast. I could tell it was microwaved to a scalding temperature. The enchilada sauce tasted like it came from a can, and not a good one at that. The Shredded chicken was alright, bland, but not terrible.
My wife has Carne asada street tacos. The Carne asada had almost no discernable flavor, apart from the pan it had been cooked in.
Both of our rice and bean sides were once again, bland. The rice was old and stale, and the beans tasted like they came out of a can with no further seasoning.
In conclusion, it's food. But there are significantly better Mexican food restaurants within 20 minutes. Go...
Read moreThis was our second time visiting this restaurant 2 years apart from one another, same type of experience. Short staffed, waiter was covering to many tables and in return recieved poor service from him.
It's customary to receive a complimentary basket of chips and salsa at most if not all Mexican style restaurants. It was a nice touch to receive a small bowl of refried beans with the salsa and chips while we waited for our main dishes. But... shared amongst four adult's it did not last very long, we slide the bowl to the end of the table to indicate that we would like a refill, but it was ignored until after our meals arrived and we asked for a refill and then they only refilled the chips leaving salsa and bean dip empty. Drinks were never refilled left empty throught meal. A good waiter would recognize these things and ask us if we would like a refill before they were empty.
The wife and I shared a two-person meal, but was not given a second plate to share the meal. We had to ask for an extra plate, and for napkins and silverware for everyone at table.
Skip this Mazatlan Restaurant and keep going to Bonney Lake Mazatlan where they will...
Read moreThe food is what gives this a 3 star, the customer service takes away what could've been a 5 star. We had a reservation for my grandpa's birthday. The lady who was our waitress was beyond rude. We had 6 adults, we had asked for more salsa for our chips and salsa, we never got those. She gave us our waters, we asked for straws, she literally turned away and walked away. She finally came back and we asked for straws she rolled her eyes and threw only 2 straws at us. It took over 40 minutes for us to get our order taken. The man who took our order and brought us our food was amazing though, he was very nice and had no problem bringing us more chips and salsa. They were busy, I'll admit that, however being ignored for over 40 minutes (they were literally looking at people walking in then they'd walk away so they wouldn't have to help them), and the rude lady who helped us, I'm not sure if we would return. But a big thank you to the man who ended up helping us, you made the visit more enjoyable with your great...
