US Forest Service Ranger Station — Local services in Enumclaw

Office closed on weekends, so don't expect to be able to get permits the day of your weekend outing. You should expect the rangers to be out on the trails harassing people and imposing monetary penalties for not having permits which aren't available to procure on weekends. "You can buy them anytime online, but without the printed receipt it does no good" said the ranger whom denied us entry to the park and confirmed the enumclaw post was not staffed on weekends. Silly one can smoke fent on the steps of the courthouse without intervention, but we cannot access public forest lands for recreation. Also, lots of downed trees, littered campsites and a few burned up cars on the way to Naches. The rangers are very proactive about writing tickets for hikers and sleders without parking...

My mom's boyfriend and I stop in at the US forest service ranger station multiple times a week while we're running errands around town.. it's actually, really, my favorite government building or property to go to. Granted, most of the time we go there after the regular business hours but it's because they live in their RV and camp at national Parks the maximum amount that they can, throughout every week. It is exactly that reason why it's so comfortable to come by this government office... I was told that when people can't overnight at our national parks that they can go to a ranger station and if they need water, get water.If they need to get rid of recycling and maybe a little bit of garbage, they can do that. you know there's different...

Closed on Saturday? Really? Is that part of the helping people to access the NW Forests? So on the weekend, I cannot get an EXPENSIVE permit to walk in the woods because the Ranger office closes up and the local stores that are listed as selling permits all do not have any permits in stock and give a would be paying customer the same sob story about how the Forest Service charges them thousands of dollars up front to stock these passes which aren't even valid for 5 months out of year? Wow. You have to buy another EXPENSIVE permit for the winter months...? So lame. Both store owners I talked to that sent me away empty handed had nothing nice to say about this...
