Run, Don’t Walk, to this delicious addition to our sometimes ethnic food desert here in northern Door County. Like their next door neighbor, the pierogi place, Anotolia mediterranean cuisine is phenomenal. My friend and I just couldn’t choose between the 2 places on our 3rd, or 4th(?) trip back so we did mix and match. Our favorite at Anotolia was the shakshuksa, and the kofte meatballs. They also have wine and beer, a tiny, adorable indoor space and an outdoor deck and picnic tables down on the lawn. The owner is a seasonal transplant and we hope he comes back from his winter visit home to feed us more and maybe bring even more interesting dishes to enjoy. Don’t miss this place. The prices cannot be beat for the quality and quantity of food offerings. It’s so nice not to have to sit down at a fancy restaurant with long waits and high prices. The rice and chickpeas were perfectly cooked, and the pitas were warm and soft. However, this year, the restaurant was very busy, and the service was a bit slow. Despite that, they managed to get our food out before we got too hungry. Everything was served hot and delicious.
