I hate to have to write this, as I have been going to Lucile's other locations for 20+ years and have always left happy and full. I was very excited that a location had opened up in Erie and went to try it out. There was only a 10 minute wait on a Saturday, which if you've been to the other locations, you know is amazing. Our waitress was friendly but it took some back and forth to figure out what could be ordered with some dietary restrictions. We ordered and about 30 minutes later, she came back and said the kitchen had lost our order. She took the order again and after another 30 minutes, we got our food. The biscuits were great as usual, everything else was mediocre. After paying the bill and leaving a good tip, I remembered that we wanted to buy some of their hot sauce. The waitress apologized for the mess ups with the food and told us to just take the almost full bottle from the table. We said "are you sure" a couple of times and ended up accepting the offer. We walked to our car, parked two blocks away and as we were getting in, someone shouted "just wondering, did you bring your own hot sauce or steal that?" The manager had followed us for two blocks and was accusing me of stealing hot sauce after paying for a $70 breakfast and leaving a 25% tip. We explained the situation and he let it go, waked back to the restaurant, but not without leaving a very bad taste in my mouth. Between the hour wait to eat, the mediocre food and being accused of theft, I won't be back to...
Read moreWe came in for a hockey tournament this weekend and are always looking for great local restaurants. We were told by numerous people that we had to try Lucile's. We were immediately impressed as we pull up. The place is buzzing as we walk up. Terri the host is like a breath of fresh air. She immediately greets us and asks us some fun questions about us and where we wanted to sit. She was extremely outgoing and you knew she loved her job. Nicki was our server she also came to us almost immediately and greeted us and got our order going. Nicki was very attentive and gave us some awesome recommendations. Ok to the food which is what everyone wants to know. The Beignets are extremely good and if you don't order those you have made a mistake. Super lite and fluffy and almost melt in your mouth. The Latte's are amazing they are served in these huge coffee cups. So fun makes you feel like you're in a small coffee shop. Ok food like real food! I got the biscuits and Gravy. The home made sauce was delicious. So much meat in the gravy it's basically a meal on its own. The biscuit is the size of a coffee plate. The biscuit is soft and fluffy and was delicious especially with the gravy. My wife ordered the omelet and grits. she loved it and raved about the side of French fries covered with cheese called Gumbo fries. Such a fun unique place and we would highly recommend. We love to support small businesses like this. Five stars we will definitely be back next time we are...
Read moreBeen wanting to try this place for awhile now and finally got the chance to visit Saturday morning. They opened at 8am, we showed up about 15 mins early and got our names near the top of the waitlist. More and more people began to show up as 8am rolled around. I would suggest getting there a bit earlier. We were the third group to get called on for a table. We sat out on the patio and it was a beautiful day. There is a big tree right in the middle that gives a significant amount of shade to almost the entire patio area. Noticed they had Mardi Gras beads hanging throughout the tree as well which added to the whole aesthetic. The food was absolutely amazing. Don’t skip on the beignets and the biscuits because they are baked fresh and super fluffy. We all tried different things and all of them were delectable. I got the Eggs New Orleans with poached eggs and hollandaise on fried eggplant slices. The Cajun sauce they put on top is a chunky tomato based with spices. I got the cheesy jalapeño grits on the side with potato hash browns. Honestly some of the best hash browns I’ve ever had. The grits were packed full of flavor I loved the bit of spice kick they had to them. Also tried the Eggs Sardou and the Cream of Spinach was so good. The Eggs Benedict Po Boy was one of the most unique dishes I’ve ever had. The bread is so soft and the ham with the poached eggs just made every bite perfect. I can’t wait to go back again to try...
