Tried the Dutch Bros. in Escondido but a little let down. Long line was fine because it's Dutch Bros.! I will wait for their amazing coffee. Only problem was the person that took my order. One order taker for each lane but for some reason when it was time to take my order she switched to the other lane and took a couple of orders there before switching back to the lane I was in. Maybe she was told to? But even the other person taking orders got confused. So after all was said and done because of this, 2 people who got in line after me got their drinks 1st and had to keep waiting because the people in front hadn't been served yet. And when she took my order she wasn't very nice either (I get it was slammed and all, but I try to be nice and understanding when it's like that and make everything simple (use the app to pay and tip) She told me in a curt tone she had to charge me for my drinks separately from the tip. Again, maybe a glitch because Dutch is new to Escondido, but why be rude when it's your tip? I ended up tipping her as much as I tip the amazing people at the Oceanside location because I felt rushed and flustered. I shouldn't have because even when Oceanside is busy, they are always so nice and understanding and never make me feel rushed or flustered. Hope they work the kinks out in Esco, but for the time being, I wouldn't recommend waiting in line if they have a big one. Oh but the coffee/tea was amazing as usual! Got the Sweater Weather and...
Read moreWe are big fans of Dutch Bros! We indulge when in Oregon or if near our stops during travel but honestly this is the first visit to a location in San Diego County. This Escondido store is much larger than the ones we frequent in Oregon. It was also slower and the vibe was not the same. The people taking orders and also the ones at checkout are not as talkative or energetic as those in Oregon. They were very polite but I miss the " how is your day going" and "going anyplace special" or "where you heading". By the time we exit we are good pals. Quality was as good as Oregon. We ordered 2 medium sugar free blended mocha's. They were extremely tasty and very enjoyable on this hot morning. Each drink was 6.50 + tax and with tip set me back a whopping $15. In the words of Cheap Pete, "good lord that's a lot of money". Visit was a success and easily qualifies as a 4 star review. To earn the extra star this location needs to expedite orders faster and employees be more energetic. If in the area, we would not...

I decided to give Dutch Bros another chance, but unfortunately, my experience was just as disappointing as the first. The wait time in the drive-through was unnecessarily long--15 minutes--because employees were chatting with friends rather than prioritizing customers. When I finally received my order, my hot coffee was ice cold.
When I brought this to the attention of the barista at the window, I was asked if I wanted it "warmed up"--does that mean they microwave drinks? That alone was concerning. The shift leader handled the situation kindly, but the damage was already done. This wasn't the first time I experienced watered-down flavoring that didn't match the menu descriptions, so I won't be returning.
As a coffee connoisseur, I cannot recommend Dutch Bros for quality, consistency, or service. If you're looking for a properly made, hot, and flavorful cup of coffee, I'd suggest...
