I visited this restaurant today and they have excellent service, a welcoming and very clean atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was perfect for a casual lunch. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the expectations set by the rest of the experience. The fries tasted like they were leftover from the previous day and reheated in a microwave, I’m not picky with fries, but these were bad. Only ate 3 fries thinking maybe the first and second ones were bad ones I picked but no, left the rest on the plate. Even my husband who would eat stale food only had 1. Also the waffle he ordered was overly dry and tasteless, overly crunchy and overcooked, but not in a good way. My husband who isn’t picky only ate less than half which he’s the type to finish his food. The eggs and bacon were good. The San Franciscan burger which the waitress said it was their best burger, even though it looked good, it didn’t taste like much and was underwhelming. While the presentation was nice, the food quality was really disappointing. I was so excited for this place because it’s super close to our house, they have what looked like an amazing menu, and a very home-like family diner. Everyone was very attentive and treated you very nice. Service was fast and efficient. It’s pricy for very low to mid food, over $60 on two plates...
Read moreI have to say my Mom loves this place and has gone there for years. She introduced me to all the employees. So, I don't have the heart to tell her how rude the manager was to me. I was charged twice. My transaction was taken out of my bank account two times. Yes, I only have one receipt, but a computer glitch charge me twice. I first called my bank. The bank said it was on J&Ms side and to call them so they can refund me. I called J&Ms to let them know and said I would give it a day. The next day it is still removed from my account two times. I called and explained again what happened. The manager Calls me back right away and said there is no way that could happen. Said he would call the company he uses. He called me back in 10 minutes to say again there is no way that could happen. I have proof it did ! But for him to be rude to me and act like I am a dirt bag thief trying to rip them off is uncalled for. Gee why not really look into it. So now I have to dispute the double charge through my bank. It will take 10 days to get my money back. If you go there, don't use your debit card, use cash... I will never go back there again. My sister's will have to take Mom there... Food is bland, my Mom thinks it's great, but she can't really teast...
Read moreWent to J and M restaurant yesterday myself and my daughter, and my granddaughter.I had eggs over easy with hash brown and two Sausage ,pancakes with strawberry whip cream on the side. My daughter had French toast with scrambled eggs, bacon.. The worst service I ever had.. My pancakes was cold she said okay .. She came back five minutes later and I cut into them and they wasn't cooked in the middle and I told her I that didn't want them. We waited another 5 minutes and I went up front. They were trying to decide how to breakdown the check. I didn't want anything free just take off the pancakes. The owner or manager who ever he was,He was so mean and rude because I wanted him to take off the pancakes he said to me to never come back in again. My bill was 40.00 I didn't understand why he was so angry about taking the pancakes off. The hostess/ waitress said to me I am sorry. She was a sweet lady. The sad part is he wouldn't say he was sorry I had been going in there for 4 years. I think they still charged me. He said to leave.We told him to have a bless day .it was only 15 people's in the restaurant I am sure this wasn't the first time he was rude to a customer. SO SAD J&M IN ESCONDIDO TREAT...
