China Wok — Restaurant in Eureka

This was by far the worst Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. The service was terrible. The waiter was rude and as he took our order (we sit on the same side of the booth) he stood behind me and talked to me like a cop that just pulled me over. The food was blazing hot like it had been microwaved. And the taste...yuck. So disappointing because we were both super hungry. We struggled through our appetizers, then took one bite each of our entrees and asked for the check. We didn't make a scene or complain. They served us. We hated the food but we still paid almost $40, no tip. And when we declined a to-go box as I stood to pay our check, an elderly asian woman pushed the dish cart over to our table and angrily grabbed our dishes while literally trapping my husband in our booth, despite my repeated requests that she let him out. She just kept mumbling that she washes the dishes. The entire experience was just awful. I would not...

The weather has changed my plans today. I went in search of a coffee house and a sandwich but was lured away by this really nice looking China Wok restaurant.

I’ve beat the lunch rush (or just missed it more likely) and the place has only a few couples inside. But the Wok is clean and cool and the waiter seems in a good mood ;)

I ordered the combo mix veggies and rice with a side clip of sour soup. The soup was great! The veggies mix plate was hot and surprisingly very fresh. I don’t get easily impressed by veggies as most restaurants (more in St. Louis and Han out here in Pacific) throw frozen substitutions in. No - this was extremely pleasantly o chew - nice and crisp - but temp hot!

I give this place 5 of 5 stars for the chill atmosphere, very attentive waiter, and the impressive food. Keep up the good work China Wok. I’ll bring the kids next time I’m...

I believe in supporting local businesses which is why I was patronizing this restaurant despite the fact that the service is terrible. After my most recent experience, I will never be back. I ordered food for pick up. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was told they did not have an order for me and the man behind the counter screamed at me that I dialed the wrong number. Turns out they had given my order to a customer with the same phone pre-fix. No apologies…. That order was returned while we were waiting for a new order to be prepared. The man behind the counter took it to the back and proceeded to come out a few minutes later announcing that my completely new order was now ready. Coincidence, I think not! ...
