Stopped for dinner here at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday evening. We stood for a while, waiting to be seated and were finally rather rudely waved toward the dining area. We waited...and waited...and waited, but no one came to our table. My daughter finally went and asked for menus and the woman at the counter looked over like she didn't know we were there, the man who told us to sit down had disappeared. I ordered lemon chicken with pork fried rice and my daughter ordered teriyaki chicken, pork fried rice and wonton soup. The food was brought to the table quickly, but, goodness....it looked terrible. My daughter's soup was 3 little wontons in a tasteless water "broth" and the bit of vegetables in the teriyaki chicken was cooked to mush. My lemon chicken was just big hunks of batter fried, very crunchy chicken scattered on the plate and swimming in bright ORANGE OIL instead of the expected lovely, tangy, lemon sauce...and no attempt to put a garnish on the plate or arrange it nicely to make it even look attractive. I ate a couple pieces of the chicken and a few bites of rice for which I paid about $13. My daughter's meal was almost $20. Although the waitress wasn't rude, she wasn't friendly either. The whole experience was so unpleasant and because I don't dine out very often, this was especially upsetting. I wanted to like the Tea Garden because I know they're a favorite local spot, but I won't...
Read moreWorst food I've had in a long time that wasn't rotten or spoiled. Some old white man cooks this slop while his Asian wife runs the front. She is the ONLY reason I didn't walk out without paying. Wonton soup was frozen wonton in WATER! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. NO FLAVOR WHATSOEVER. But wait, it's gets worse. Chinese rice was plain brown rice. I think it was supposed to be brown. It didn't taste like it. It didn't taste like anything. Vegetables come right out of the can. Nothing was seasoned or had any flavor. The thing that I found really hard to believe was that we weren't the only people eating in the restaurant. Does this place actually have return business? The only reason this place is still open is because of their drive thru coffee side hustle. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere...
Read moreFirst and last trip to this place and If it was possible to leave no stars I would. We orderd fried rice, walnut shrimp, wontons, chicken low main (pan fried), lemon chicken and another dish I cant remember. The lemon chicken was a small chicken breast deep fried in a thick layer of batter and dry and stringy. The low main was so dry and burned it was compleatly unedible. The fried rice as my husband said taste like a dirty shoe and the walnut shrimp was so over cooked (of freezer burned) that you could not even chew it. The waitress( or owner not sure) was polite enough to not charge us for the walnut shrimp but we didnt eat any of food and paid the $50 tab and went to another restaurant afterwards. I feel like we just threw our cash away. I would NEVER recommend this...
