If you want a delightful, delicious dining experience featuring delectable dishes, I encourage you to give the Curry Leaf Restaurant a try. It’s a new restaurant in Eureka. I must say that I was very positively impressed by the welcoming, friendly, and absolutely wonderful staff (Thanks, Olivia!) who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable as you choose your meal from 18 different small bites, 6 soups and salads, 11 side orders, 3 noodle soups, 9 rice dishes, 6 fried noodle dishes, 10 main dishes, and 4 tempting desserts. I’ve been there twice now. The first time I had the crispy chicken bun appetizer, but I substituted crispy pork belly for the chicken. It was absolutely delicious. I also had the Singapore Fried Mee Hoon with beef, another good choice! My husband reaped the benefits of the good-sized portions when I brought some leftovers home for him. This past Friday I went a second time. My friend and I shared 3 appetizers: the crispy chicken bun (this time with the chicken – it was fantastic!), steamed pork potstickers, and an order of vegetable tempura. The vegetable tempura looked like a work of art in how it was arranged on the plate! My friend and I have already figured out what we’ll order to share the next time that we go to the Curry Leaf Restaurant in a couple of weeks from now. Our server was polite, attentive, and personable. And, of course, Olivia said good-bye to both my friend and me as we left the restaurant. The Curry Leaf Restaurant is definitely worth the visit if you want good food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. This is now my new favorite restaurant in all of...
Read moreOur first time trying this place. I can only officially speak on my behalf and the opinions expressed by my other half. The atmosphere was acceptable. I appreciate the fact that the dining room isn't crowded by "elbows". I've waitressed and been a patron, in life. It is uncomfortable for everyone when a dining room is crowded to the point of having to express multiple apologies to simply use the restroom. Food: delicious. Mind you: we only ordered 3 items. Miso soup, beef chow fun and ....shoot... what did me other half order. Stay tuned to find out; he is at college. The two items mentioned above: phenomenal in taste. I adored them. I've been on a few "Ramen tours" ...or California. This soup and noodles stood up well. Thanks you. Waitresses was a bit preoccupied and we had to flag down a waiter, nice boy who let us know we weren't his problem and he'd let our server know we needed her. That felt yucky. I've been a server, have some manners and respectability... never make a customer feel like they don't matter if they don't equate into your tip. You're doing it wrong then. Finesse and respectability are so much...
Read moreThird time here. The first two times I really enjoyed the food. Although the whole vibe could use an update. Definitley needs to be overhauled in the dining room. The food this time was absolutley sub-par. I was finally able to try the "soup" dumplings. No soup. Barely even moist. When I inquired about them not having any soup the server just sorta nodded and said "Yea". So basically they are pork dumplings. Very disappointing. The chicken katsu is a huge portion. Very over cooked and bland. Not a lick of seasoning. And then served with very cold sauce. Scallion pancakes were okay. Not much of a scallion taste and the sauce on the side was overpowering with salt. BF liked his seafood noodle dish. I felt they used too much corn starch in the broth. flavor was good though. Will likely be a while before I come back. I had high hopes for this one. Sometimes feels like restaurant owners in Humboldt expect the consumers here to be blind to good food, service and ambiance and therefore they just don't go out of their way to deliver exceptional quality...
