*We were seated quickly. However, it took over 10 minutes for a server to come over to our table with a short greeting to only have us wait several minutes more before she finally returned back to our table to ask what we would like to drink?
*My sons' order was incorrect and she had the audacity to place blame on the manager. On the manager? (So unprofessional to speak ill of your colleagues, even worse about your manger.) How is that even possible? She boasted that the manger was the one that entered the order in to the system incorrectly and that it wasn't her.
*My family ordered the all-you-can-eat meals (one ordered the bbq ribs and the other three ordered the chicken) One member had to wait over 15 minutes for his corrected order.
*While the one was waiting for his corrected meal the others ate. By the time my son's meal came out the others were just about done their plates and waitress asked if they were ready for their second round. "Yes ma'am.", they replied.
*My daughter-in-law and my daughter could not finish their second plates, however my son was ready for his third plate while my other son (whose order was messed up) was just finishing off his 1st plate when the waitress came over and said to us, "let me clear up these plates from your table and when you are ready you can pay from this device." My daughter-in-law kindly excused herself from interrupting the waitress and explained to the waitress that her husband was not done eating. I added that my son (the one with the incorrect order) just completed his first plate and would like another. Boy, the waitress did not seem to like that for her whole face changed as well as her attitude with us. She even became more frustrated when my daughter asked for a to-go box for their her left overs. We all noticed this and we became uncomfortable.
*Another server came with both of my son's meals and the to-go boxes for my daughters. She said nothing to us, just placed the plates on the tables and extended the boxes until someone reached for them. My daughter complemented her earrings and she gave this smuggish grin, looked at me then walked away. I was shocked! We all were!
*We could not grasp the idea as to why the frustration with the waitress and her helpers. Why? For ordering more of the all-you-can-eat because they were hungry.
*Her demeanor, the ambiance just made us all feel very uncomfortable. Myself, as well as my young adult children wanted to pay and leave.
*She returned to our table stating that she was going to clear off the plates and cups and she added that when ready, I may pay for our meals through the small black device she was pointing to, and if I am paying by cash then I will pay her directly. Mind you, my two son's still were still eating their meals. Her character, her tone was just too much for me to bear and so I acknowledged what she said and then asked her for two more to-go boxes for my son's meals because I did not want to be there any more. Here's the icing on the cake- She returned back with the boxes but began scolding us with "you are not allowed to order an all-you-can-eat meal to go. This is what my manager wanted you all to know." My oldest son looked at her and asked her what do we do then with the left over food on our plates? (Which was not even allot.) She handed him the boxes and added when you're ready to pay let me know and...
Read moreTried to have a nice lunch with Family. I’ve had wonderful experiences at dinner time and when I decided to bring family for lunch it was the biggest mistake ever. Customer service non existent, waited for awhile to be acknowledged and seated. When finally seated, the waitress came to take our orders. When one of our party for ribs, she told us that it wasn’t an option that it was only for dinner. Then after a few minutes they miraculously became available. Waitress never refilled our water. I guess tap water is way too expensive to have. When it was all said and done... we were “accidentally” charged for the wrong table. When the bill was paid and the receipt was given to us. On our way out the door, the waitress stops us to let us know that the $53 bill we had paid in full was not ours. Then when we inquired why... she tells us with a nasty attitude and says that they put the wrong tablet and when we say how long until we get the refund she goes to say it takes about two to three business day. And when we go to ask for the manager. This young arrogant looking man comes with his dirty clothes. He tries to explain to us with a condescending voice how things work out. As we are asking him how will we be compensated he rudely pulls out cash to give it to us. Honestly it felt like he was trying to get us to shut up and ship out. I have never felt so unwanted and treated like an uneducated scumbag. Seriously Applebee’s needs to reconsider the type of people they hire as managers. They give retail a bad reputation for a good...
Read moreWe started going to Applebees again after several years due to the limited amount of decent restaurants in our area. We went about a month ago and ordered steak. It was excellent. Perfectly cooked, and the drinks and service were great. We went again today for our monthly outing and had exactly the same meal. I ordered it medium, which is a little pink on the inside. When it came it was so well done and tough you needed a saw to cut it. I spoke to the waitress who was great, and she sent the manager over. He agreed it was overdone and ordered me another steak. In the interim I ate the broccoli and mashed potatoes and waited patiently for my second steak. Finally it came and although it was rare, not medium, it was still very touch and very hard to cut. The “Perfect Margarita”, which has always been a full shaker, was half full. The only thing I can say was good was the salad, broccoli and mashed potatoes, but the meal was definitely not worth $50. However, I must say my dog enjoyed the steak when we arrived home. We would have been much better off going to Arby’s. We are senior citizens who enjoy peace and quiet, so to top off this wonderful meal, they sat a couple directly behind us with two very loud very young children. While I understand they have to sit somewhere, the restaurant was almost empty and didn’t need to be wedged in the booth behind us. I suggest if you want edible food and a nice, quiet atmosphere, you will want to avoid Applebee’s. We definitely will...
