UPDATE I wanted to post an update on this situation. I called & left several messages. I didn't get any response from anyone at this location. I never received a refund for my missing items nor the items that were either wrong or not something that we could eat. I looked it up & since December of 2023 we have spent around $700.00 at this location. They sure don't make you feel valued or appreciated. We've also stood by what we said & haven't went back to this location or any other Sonnys location. I would love it if someone would contact me. I would also love to get a refund on the items that were missing or not worth eating.
We order Sonnys often since it's my mom's favorite place to eat. We've ordered from the Eustis location 3 times and all 3 times we've had problems with our order. The first time we had our order delivered. I immediately talked to the manager and_ he took care of the situation and therfore we ordered again. The second time was worse than the first. At that time I sent a email because they were closed by the time we got (some of) our food. Never heard back from anyone. No message nor phone call to resolve the problem. Please keep in mind when we order delivery our bill is always over $100.00 plus the insane delivery charge Sonnys charges and we always tip the driver very well. That brings me to tonight's delivery. Against my better judgment and even though there was a total lack of concern for the previous order they screwed up, I placed another order for delivery. Delivery was quick and the driver was super friendly (DoorDash). I get handed our drinks and there is only 5 drinks and I ordered 6.5 Sweet teas and a kids Sprite. Unfortunately, 1 was unsweet which isnt what we ordered. So, now 2 of us either goes without or we all share to make up for the missing and unflavored ⁶sweet tea. Now 5 of us are getting shorted and arent very happy.. We ordered 2 pulled pork big deals 2 sliced turkey big deals 1 chicken strip kids meal 1 Angus burger meal and an extra order of fries. Each meal had fries but they were either to brown or they were way to crunchy. Not the usual fries that we love so much. We didn't receive the extra order of fries. We ordered sweet sauce with each meal and didn't receive 1 packet. We got original but didn't order original. The pulled pork was big chunks of pork and the sliced turkey was nothing but crumbles. It's really hard to keep a bunch of crumbles on a bun when trying to eat it. It sucks. The Angus burger was red inside. We had to finish cooking it ourselves and by the time it was done, my son said forget it. I don't think any of those items were meant to be delivered that way. I'm very upset by this. I don't care how bad my mom wants to order Sonnys again, I WILL NOT do it. I WILL NOT order and pay that kind of money for missing items or items that aren't good enough to eat. I like getting exactly what I order because I like my money and don't like throwing it away. I sure do hope this location gets this under control because I'm sure we're not the only family receiving our orders like this. As for this family, I'll be contacting the Eustis location tomorrow as they were closed when our food was delivered. Hopefully, they'll make this situation right by refunding our missing items and by just making the bill match what we had delivered tonight. I normally would've never left a review and for sure would've never left a bad review. I would've just learned from the mistake and wouldn't waste my time by leaving a review. Then I thought about the second time we got our order; how messed up it was and how no one even responded to the email i sent explaining the things missing or wrong with it. It's unexceptable and maybe by me doing leaving this review it'll be brought to someone's...
Read moreI have avoided Sonny's for the last 4-5 years due a sharp decline in the quality of the food but figured I would give them another shot. This turned out to be a mistake! I visited this location today and had an awful dinning experience!
First the waitress serving us seemed to always be in hurry to get away from our table (keep in mind this was after the lunch rush and the restaurant was at less than 25℅ capacity). She never once removed plates or anything else from our table.
Second was the food. We ordered the "Redneck Egg Rolls" and they came out with 6 (3 cut in halves) and to be fair the ones we ate tasted decent but one of them looked like it was dropped in fryer first and taken out 10 minutes after the last one (way over cooked).
My 2 youngest ordered a hot dog meal but the waitress failed to inform us that if you choose a bread item (cornbread or garlic bread) that you don't get a bun for your hotdog?!?! This was not mentioned on the menu either as neither of the younger kids cared about the bread item and would have rather had a bun for their hotdog but made their choice when asked by the waitress if they wanted cornbread or garlic bread. When we asked the waitress about it later (because our food brought out by one of the kitchen staff who informed us we didn't get buns because of the bread items) she said "I would offer you a bun but you already cut up the hotdog". I didn't realize that a bun for your hotdog would be special order or I would have gladly paid the extra ¢50 or whatever for the bun!
When it was time to leave we had to request the check in stead of the waitress bringing it like you would expect. When we requested the check my daughter requested a chocolate milk to go. I gave the waitress my credit card (we were paying on 2 different checks) and she took off before my wife could get her card out of her wallet to pay. When she returned, she gave my daughter her chocolate milk and took my wife's card. When my daughter tasted the milk she almost vomited!! After inspecting the milk it was not just bad but VERY curdled!
We told the waitress when she came back and she stated "I checked the date and it wasn't expired." which tells me that she noticed something wrong but choose to overlook it and serve it anyway when a 2 second examination by my wife and me saw that it looked like cottage cheese!
After paying my wife stopped by the bar area and spoke to the manager on duty. When she mentioned the egg rolls she told "You should have said something about it when they came out." When the 2 spolied milks served was mentioned the manager stated (without even offering another drink) "Well our servers get busy sometimes and don't have time to check it."?!?!? Really this is the MANAGER'S reply?!?! Guess if the kitchen gets busy then you risk getting bad meat with a side of food poisoning!! Nice to know... I'm sure that same excuse works for the Health Department to right?!?!
After this experience I will never visit Sonny's again, especially this location and for the health and safety of you and your family I wouldn't recommend that you do...
Read moreMy husband, grand daughter and I went for lunch today 10/5/18@ 11:30. The restaurant is under construction, mainly the bar and womens bathroom. The hostess sat us at the second row seat, towards the front in the first section behind the hostess stand, it was a 6 top long table. We sat there for approximately 10 mins, no greeting, servers walking by and no one said a word to us. My grand daughter, who is 3, was hungry and becoming impatient. Finally, the hostess came up to us and asked us if we wanted something to drink, well.....yes we do....we ordered sweet teas and when she brought them to the table, I asked where our server was and she told is that she was taking to go orders. A gentleman, who I will assume was the MOD, walked up to the hostess to tell her something, and she asked him when we would have a server, he had a blank stare, I said to him we've been waiting 10 mins, he shook his head and walked away.....really? We were on the verge of leaving and a server came to the table, we gave her our order all at once. There was a gentleman sitting at the table in front of us and he got up and left, he was tired of waiting. We received our food and everything was good and then bartender who was supposed to be our server, came up to me and apologize to me for witnessing the gentleman leaving and she was sorry for the delay in our service. I told her, she didn't owe me an apology, her manager should have been the person to extend the apology, not her. I told her she was doing a great job and I gave her encouragement and God love her, she started crying. I felt so bad for her. My family and I have been frequent visitors of Sonnys, we love the place, but perhaps the MOD needs more training in customer service and maybe they should close during the construction process. Having only 1 bathroom for the entire restaurant, men and women was...
