Great little hole-in-the-wall; Fiance heard about it from a work acquaintance in Longmont. They said to get tacos. First time we tried to check it out, we were surprised to find it's hours are 'til 3pm (and closed on Sunday), so we returned a few weeks later.
We wanted to try several meats / tacos, but were told we couldn't get just one taco of each meat (there are 15 meat options, but we were hoping to get 3 tacos per person to try 6 meats / have a bunch of different flavor options)...we settled on 3 meat choices: asada, barbacoa, and chicken.
6 tacos and 2 Mexican (cane sugar) Cokes came to about $27.
It was 100° outside, and although it was cooler in the shade, we opted to take them home to the comfort of AC while we dined. I'm certain they're even more fabulous if eaten immediately, but we'll find that out another time.
All tacos were full of fresh vegetables, and they gave us several ramekins of the orange (spicy) and green (unspicy) salsas. The green was a little flavorful. The orange just burned in the back of the throat without adding noticeable flavor, so we stuck with green.
Barbacoa was the best, by far. My fiance usually favors Chicken, but didn't eat half of it. Neither of us cared for the Asada (was dry), which was the only one that didn't have refried beans (which weren't specified to be on the tacos at all, but added great flavor and moisture in every bite).
We would go back to try more, but it may be a while because they close at 3pm, and the stipulation to get 2 or more of each taco to try the different meats.. it's understandable, but...
Read moreThe salsas were some of the best I've had! The green (mild) had great flavor and just the slightest kick. Perfect! My partner said the red (extreme hot) had great flavor and thought it was spicy (note he can take the spiciest and think it's nothing, so if that's not you, stick w the delicious green). Best of the meats: cheek shredded beef asada. Carnitas, it was ok. Wasn't into the chicken. Have to ask next time if they have flour tacos, they gave us corn. Gauc was good, but they don't give you much. The breakfast burrito was large and delish. We tried the bacon, which it had plenty. Def worth the trip.
It's a hole-in-the-wall, so great atmosphere for that...
Read moreStopped in for breakfast burritos today after reading about this place on Reddit (of all places). Tried the chorizo and the bacon breakfast burritos. Nice people at the register. Burritos were fresh and made to order and big enough that one is enough for breakfast (unlike other breakfast burritos that are so small you need two or three). Got ours wrapped in foil, but it looks like you can sit outside there and have a smothered burrito as well. We tried three hot sauces and while they were all good, the habanero was my favorite. Nice heat and flavor. Glad we tried this spot and will definitely be back! Note: bring cash or pay 4% more...
