Almanzas Mexican Food — Restaurant in Evans

$3015.91 WAS CHARGED TO MY ACCOUNT INSTEAD OF $15.91!

I’ll make this as brief as possible without leaving out too many details: Do not use a card here unless you plan on being overcharged thousands of dollars. I came to this restaurant and purchased $12.91 worth of food and left a $3.00 tip on my debit card, which was charged as credit. When the charge hit my account two days later, I was charged $3015.91!

My wife and I Immediately contacted our bank. The bank said the issue would take up to 10 days to resolve. Our account was -$2800.00, so obviously 10 days would be an issue. When we contacted the restaurant, the cashier would not allow us to speak to a manager because he did not speak English, and apparently would not be in for a few more hours. The owner was also out of country for a few weeks, apparently. The cashier promised they would call us to resolve the issue as soon as the manager came in. No call. We had to call the restaurant two more times before they came with a resolution. Apparently, they did not have the means reimburse the money on our account, and offered to pay in cash.

In the end, I had to go to this place and count $3000.00 in 100, 50 and 20 dollar bills ON THE FRONT COUNTER OF THE RESTAURANT! Completely visible and vulnerable to the questionable looking folks behind me.

This is NOT a great way to resolve a huge mistake with your customers. The issue was resolved in the most unprofessional manner. I would be lying if I didn’t say I felt my safety was at risk while counting a wad of bills in front...

I love this place, I gave 3 stars because while the food is great, the window attendant is not so great. Everyone here gets my order correct, but the window lady, she’s rude. As soon as you get the speaker to order she mumbles, and then she doesn’t give you anytime to add food before she tries to quickly push you forward to the window. The entire time she takes my order she mumbles. I can’t understand her. My husband is Mexican, I can understand accents , but I don’t understand her mumbling. Today I went, it was her and I had my husband order in Spainish. When she gave me my food, I said thank you and she says “BYE” Maybe she’s rude to me because I am a white girl married to a Mexican, or maybe she’s just rude. I’m be honest, I dread coming here, this lady makes me not want to come to your restaurant, this is my favorite place for burritos, but she is not my favorite person. She needs some training, she needs to learn to respect her regular customers and stop with the attitude. Blahhhh... terrible terrible terrible. Low quality food, it feels dirty when your standing at the counter, the building is falling apart, sloppy, unintelligent, unhelpful staff w/ visible hickeys - low quality talent, slowest drive Thru in Greeley, the list could go on.

Make sure you get an itemized receipt if you dare to go here. Orders are consistently wrong. Their manager, if you want to call him that, was less helpful than the hickeyed up employee. When Mr. Hickey messed up my order, he was rude and threw his hands out and started taunting me as if he was going to beat me up for challenging his auditory order taking skills.

Look, expectations were never high when I rolled up to their drive through - bent and crooked order menu, broken/missing roof tiles, probably original lead paint, snail trail grease pathways making it easy to see how little they care about their food or customers.
