We went on a Thursday evening at 6pm. Party of 2 adults and one baby. They were not busy at the time.
Atmosphere The table was clean and neat. The bathrooms were also very clean. We sat in a booth and we had our newborn with us. The booth was the perfect size for me to put my newborn’s carrier beside me. The lighting started to hurt my eyes after awhile as it was quite dim. Maybe it’s because our booth location?
Service Got our drinks and appetizer quickly. They give you an entire paper towel roll for napkins which we loved as we are messy. Our server was Jordan.
Sweet Tea Southerner Approved. ✅ It’s hard to find good tea in restaurants and this was perfect. We had ours with served with lemon. Our lemon was fresh and juicy.
Gater fries Hot in temperature, seasoned well (cajun) , cheesy just wish the cheese was a bit more melted, loved the yummy aioli sauce (we couldn’t get enough of it). It was a good shareable. The fried gater was fresh and offered a nice crispy quality to the dish. It was the perfect amount for my husband and I.
Grilled Salmon Cooked beautifully, crab sauce was yummy and rich, served with garlic butter and with the crispy skin side down.
Fried Catfish Fillet Dinner Served on a plate and so crispy and not soggy at all. Seasoned very well, left seasoning on my fingers after I picked it up! Definitely some of the best fish I’ve had.
Loaded Baked Potato The premium side loaded baked potato had butter, cheese, sour cream, bacon and chives. The baked potato was hot and flavorful. The perfect addition to my meal.
Corn on the Cob The regular side of the corn on the cob was not hot in temperature but that is to be expected with corn as it looses heat quickly from being boiled.
Hush puppies We got a side of hush puppies for $2.49 for 4. They were crispy, well seasoned and delicious dipped in the tartar sauce!
Robot As far as the robot is concerned. I have been hearing a lot of mixed opinions on this but while we were there we seen the robot help the servers. It was there to ASSIST them and help bring the food to the tables that would have otherwise taken two trips by the waitress. Definitely not replacing anyone’s job.
Total ticket was $58.44 before tip

Read moreRestaurant Review Catfish Willy's Evansville. This is my comment I posted to their site which I am sure will be deleted as soon as they see it. Avoid their All You Can Eat Catfish Special!! Our party consisted of 4 people, my wife, brother in law, sister in law and myself. Arrival 5:15pm Saturday July 29, the place had several guest but was not crowded and no wait seating was available. All 4 of us ordered the all you can eat catfish special, a bit pricey at $19.99 each but hey it was all you can eat catfish and sides. After 30 minute wait on food our first round consisted of two slivers of fish looks like they had cut a standard size fillet in at least 3 if not 4 pieces and one side. Their side choices for their all you can eat are fries, hush puppies, and cold slaw. You can switch sides between orders but you can only get one at a time. So our first serving was far from a standard catfish dinner, but it is all you can eat, right? So I asked the waitress to put in our next order immediately since the initial order took so long which she did. Needless to say all four of us finished our meager first serving in less that 5 minutes, and then waited 20 minutes for our second order of fish to arrive, the same slim servings as the first but with no sides. We were informed we had to put in orders for fish and sides separately. We put in another order for fish immediately. We finished our second order of fish long before or second order of sides appeared and finished these long before our third order of fish appeared. The pattern continues for a full two hours with me complaining to the waitress all the while before our friends said they had had enough and were ready to leave. All total we received less food than a standard fish dinner at Cheddars or Sam's Southern Eatery. No offer to reduce bill, no manager to talk to, and no comment cards. We will...
Read moreMargarita was too sweet to drink. I chugged it rather than waste it. It was pretty much all BlackBerry syrup. So I stuck with beer. The gator fries were excellent. The gator was tender. Also, perfectly seasoned and breaded. Our server started out good but I had to keep calling out to get his attention for drink refills. Then we never saw him. We were basically not waited on most of our meal. The owner said he was pulled to the back. Service was pretty bad. Food wait time was 20-30 min which is standard for good fresh cooked food. My son got the chicken fried chicken. It was smothered in gravy and looked good.....but it taked like processed chicken cutlet. It had an odd texture. I had the grippo meatloaf. What a good sounding meal!....it came with mashed potatoes that were super dry. The meatloaf itself tasted like I was made a week ago and reheated on the flat top grill. Its was crunchy on the outside and that was not the grippo. I ate half bc I was hungry. The only person who asked about our food was the owner, I assume. It was the end of the meal. We ate bc we were hungry. We also had the chicken and waffles. It was good and the chicken on that tasted like real breast meat. The dessert was a frozen cake...pretty standard for restaurants, but it was still kinda frozen and the cake part was really dry. We ordered a side of green beans. They were just heated up canned green beans. Overall, would not reccomend anything other than the gator fries. I found it a huge turn off that our red plastic water cups tasted like fish. We asked for more water and each new cup they brought tasted and smelled like fish. it was pretty gross. The decor was cute. Big menu....maybe too big? We must've ordered the wrong things? I'm not...
