A friend recommended this place to my boyfriend and I a few months back, and we took a chance on it. We have been back at least once a week since; sometimes two or three times! The ingredients are fresh and there are SO many options. The Philadelphia roll, pork ramen, and shrimp hibachi are my favorite dishes so far. I haven’t had anything I don’t like. I’m usually pretty picky when it comes to sushi because I feel like sometimes the fish isn’t fresh, but out of the 20 times I’ve ordered raw fish at Poke River, it was 10/10 every time! They also have organic tofu which would be great for vegan/vegetarians! I’ve recommended Poke River to ALL of my foodie friends! I’m not sure if Poke River is “owner-operated” but it seems that way. It is the same two people working the front counter every time. Not only are they friendly, but EVERY employee is too! Sometimes the kitchen employees deliver our food when Poke River is busy and the kitchen employees are just as polite and have offered to buss our table for us before, even though the guest is responsible for bussing their table. I will be a...
Read moreHello. If you get food delivery service for a meal, please pay for it. Drivers get no hourly rate. Most of the time, we only get one order per hour, and those orders are not even $10/ hour per delivery. We shouldn't be losing money to deliver your food. It should be $1.00/ mile with a $5.00 minimum delivery fee per one pickup and drop off. If you can't afford delivery, then you will have to pick it up for yourself. No one wants to work for free or drive their vehicle into the ground with nothing left to replace it. For example, this person paid $2.00 for their meal to be delivered 7 miles. The only reason I took the order is because I thought it was one pickup and delivery, not two, so I lost money on this order. Customers who do not pay for services will be permanently blocked from getting future deliveries. Both customers and drivers have the ability to block a person from future...

I haven't been to all the city's deli-style restaurants, but given this place's flavors seem to belong in a much fancier place, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the best of them.
For those who don't know, "poke" (pronounced "poh-keh") is a Hawaiian-Chinese style of food involving sashimi (sushi-type raw fish) layered with other foods in a rice or greens bowl with sauces.
If you like sushi, you'll like this.
They also have "sushi burritos" which is basically everything in a poke bowl except it's wrapped inside nori. And they have ramen! Real authentic ramen with pork belly! We are so lucky to have that in Evansville.
The owners are neat people who run the place themselves. It's always somewhat busy, but not...
