Be cautious when purchasing furniture and/or appliances from this store.. specifically the Evansville Indiana location.
The sales associate I worked with was wonderful, accommodating, and pleasant.
The issue I had was at the end of my purchase.
I recently paid off a mattress and box spring which I was paying monthly installments on.
Within the last month and a half I paid my purchase off in full. I wanted my bank account and card information removed from the company website pay portal, which one would think would be a rational, reasonable, and seemingly easy request.
One thought wrong, that person being myself. I tried to remove the option myself via the pay portal...I was unable to do so.
I then contacted the customer service number only to be told to numerous times that they were unable to remove my payment information. I was told that it was not an option and that it would be left on there. I made it very clear that I would not be purchasing any more items from their company and that I wanted it removed. I also stated I wanted to speak to someone above him and of course, he was the last stop. There was no resolve to the issue at hand.
Most importantly, like with anything ...if you are unable to pay with cash upfront, do not buy it. This is a lesson I learned years ago, but found myself in a situation where this was one of the few options I had to utilize.
It is a decision I sincerely regret. If you are a business owner who is in the business of doing just that.... BUSINESS, I suggest you take the satisfaction of your customers experience more seriously, especially when they are requesting their personal payment information to be removed from a multi million dollar franchised companies websites pay portal- after paying their purchase paid in full.
In a time where online security is VERY EASILY compromised, the request to have personal information was reasonable.
I will go grab a piece of furniture out of a dumpster in the future, before I ever purchase from this company again.
The OWNERS need to look into how many other similar situations such as mine, that have occurred. I am willing to bet that I'm not the only customer who has asked the simple request as I did, and was denied.
Very poor business manuevers on their end, in my...
Read moreI went to BigSandy on 3/15, Chuck greeted me and educated on the Grand Opening Specials. If you spend $1,000 then you get 6% off, if you spend over $3,000 then a free TV. I ended up selecting a sectional that was $1,188.99 as well as an ottoman and a protection plan with free delivery. I was then quoted a price of $2,200.
After my order was entered into the computer I was then told that I owed $2,500. I asked to see a print out of all the charges and realized that I was being well overcharged for every piece of the sectional as well as for the ottoman and a delivery charge on top of the protection plan.
After discussing this further with the General Manager it was revealed that Chuck had rang it in at full price rather than the Manger Special price. I then also asked about the 6% off as well since we were paying over $1,000, and I was informed that the 6% would not apply since it was a Manager Special and they would be giving Chuck some additional training.
On 3/22 delivery was attempted at 2PM but I realized that the sectional was facing the opposite direction of what we requested so I refused the delivery and called Big sandy but was directed to a call center. I was advised that they did not have a resolution for me and once they did they would be in touch. So I then went to the store. I was advised by the delivery people as well as the floor manager that this happens a lot and offered me a new delivery date of 3/27. The General Manager also advised that they would be sending a gift card after the furniture was delivered and again stated he would be giving Chuck some training.
On 3/27 I was provided a delivery window 2:30-6:30, but the delivery did not arrive until 7:23PM. I was advised that they still had 5 more deliveries to make that night and it was almost 8:00! Bottom line they messed up multiple times and the only thing offered to patch up the disservice was additional training to the Salesperson and a gift card (That we still have not received as of 4/30)

Read moreAll around nightmare. They use a 3rd party delivery/installation service and even they acknowledge how terrible they are, but refuse to take responsibility about a service they are offering and charging for. First situation was delivery of a $6000 set of appliances. Drivers arrived late and both wearing pjs and took TWO hours to get JUST the refrigerator in my home. Then they left my kitchen a disaster, didn't actually install anything and damaged my kitchen wall. Trash was left in my driveway and all over my kitchen and into my living room. They left pieces to the dishwasher, fridge and microwave laying on 3 different counters, left their tools in my kitchen and on my porch and put in the wrong screw when putting the doors back on the fridge. They sent someone from the store to at lease make sure my refrigerator was installed so my toddler and baby could have food. The delivery manager came a few days later to install but still didn't finish the job. My husband had to install our dishwasher. I will say we were refunded for installation, which is only right because full installation was never completed. Against our better judgement, we went back 2 weeks later to use the gift card we received from the appliance purchase. We chose a new bedroom suite for our 2 year old daughter and kitchen table. Another $2000+ spent. This time we asked for curbside delivery, to not have to deal with the drivers. Their curbside delivery is leaving half assembled items, without a box laying on the sidewalk. Not just that, but the bed was discolored and stained. AND THERE WAS BLOOD ON MY TWO YEAR OLDS BED!! I get accidents happen, but I'd expect them to replace the bed before they left it with biohazardous waste. After all, only half of the bedroom set was put on the truck, the rest was "forgot" about back in Ohio, so it wouldn't have been a big deal to wait for a clean bed. I honestly can't say enough bad things about this store. Incompetence, ignorance, contradictions, irresponsibly; that...
