update: I can’t find a way to respond to the owner other than updating this review. If you’re saying you checked your cameras 2 months later and didn’t see what I reported, I’m sorry but you’re not being truthful. Our waitress was female. We barely saw her. Also I’d like to add there were only 2 other tables at the time. I would understand if she were busy, but that was not the case. There was also a man in the kitchen that saw us standing in the entryway when we first arrived, he also ignored us. There was another male there who seated us and ultimately got us the check. He arrived after we did. We thought he was a customer. He said that he used to work there and would get us seated. Later He was sitting at the bar. He was very friendly and I felt bad to bother him. He made a comment that he used to work there but wasn’t currently working there. Maybe his family works there or owns the business? I’m not sure. He was a very nice young man who helped us when he saw that we were being completely ignored - but he did mention that he was not currently working at the restaurant even though he used to. Your response, which quite honestly is a just a flat out lie, makes me reiterate that I will never return to your business and I will make sure to let others know of my experience. *
I was so excited to try this place. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options and I love supporting local businesses. The food is okay. The portions are generous. I didn’t like my food but there was nothing wrong with it. The flavor/sauce just isn’t something I enjoyed. My partner got fried rice and it was really delicious.
I’m leaving 2 stars because of the service. It’s horrible. We came in and stood at the door for over 10 minutes before we were seated. We ordered and got our food pretty fast. Once we got our food, the waiter never came back to check on us. The food is pretty spicy. My partner took his glass to the bar to ask for water, and the waiter saw him and immediately turned his back and walked away. We were completely ignored. Never got another refill. Waited 15 minutes after eating for a check. A check never came, we had to again walk around and find someone to ask for a check. I wouldn’t say the staff is rude, but they’re not friendly and they just don’t refill drinks or check on you at all.
The food is okay but honestly you can get good fried rice anywhere else and have much better service. Unfortunately I don’t recommend this place and I won’t be coming back.
Update - the restaurant I went to was Thai papaya. Apparently they’ve moved locations and changed their name. But it was...

Read moreA windy Thursday in February led to our discovery of this restaurant as we approached a different foodplace nearby, on impulse we deemed it warranted a change of plans to give them a try. A decision I do not regret! I am a longtime fan of all Asian cuisines, not one to shy away from bold flavors, unique combinations, unusual ingredients and fantastical utilizations of otherwise unheard-of fare. Enter Thai Bistro & Bar, an intriguing atmosphere that immediately sparks interest from the two divided dining rooms. The far wall features a beautiful panoramic portrait of Bangkok, highlighting the river and king's palace & the ceiling is an unmissable canopy of vegetation. The decor works for them in this space and I enjoyed looking around before and during the meal. I started with the Thai Fried Pork Belly and I cannot recommend it enough! It was delicious and the dish alone may force a return trip out of me. For my main dish I took the recommendation of my server and settled on Pad Kee Mao Ta-Lay, a sensational creation that incorporates mussels, shrimp, scallops, and cod with a sauce that is out of this world. They call it their Pad Kee Mao sauce and the dish definitely deserves to be the sauces namesake. It just works. And it works so well I almost licked the bowl. It is one of the higher priced menu items and I wish it was a slightly larger portion, but with a taste this good it served well to leave me wanting more. All in all, The flavors at this place are phenomenal and I will definitely be back to give more of...
