Chef Lo on the Go — Restaurant in Evansville

Huge disappointment. I have been wanting to try this place for so long, looking at all the pictures and reviews. Went today with my son around 4pm. The place wasn't busy but still there were some other customers.

We ordered steak sandwich, and their special lamb chops with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts.

The food took 43 MINUTES!!!! Absolutely insane. So we sat there and at least I hoped the food would be amazing. We got it, the fries was cold and half was soggy the other half was so hard that it felt like it was sitting for 2 days. My steak sandwich, I had to keep spitting out chunks because I would say about every other bit was fat that I couldn't chew through. What a dam disappointment. The steak had zero seasoning, some grilled onions and THATS IT. FOR $20?!?!?! the bread was horrible soggy and overly oily, it seemed like it was sitting on the warmer for an hour. If I got a sandwich like this and fries like this at a fast food place, I would return it and have it remade. Absolutely unacceptable. But after waiting for almost an hour, definitely wasn't doing that.

My son's lamb chops now. We grill a lot at home and I make lamb several times a month. The lamb was TINY. Barely any meat. The portion of mashed potatoes was so small like it was for a toddler. Maybe 3-4 table spoons? Literally 60% of the box was brussel sprouts. The lamb was bland with no seasoning it seems and it was well well well done to where I was very dry.

This is a SELF SERVE PLACE. In to go boxes and cheap plastic forks/knives. They give you no drinks or even water cups or anything.

The price? $50!!!!!!! For what?! Insane. We went next door to them and got 2 cans of coke and a bottle of water for $8. I threw away about half of my food, and my son ate his. We were both still starving and went to subway after that.

Beyond upset and disappointed because I was really looking forward to this place. But what a huge waste of money and time. We go out downtown multiple times a week, and the price is insane for what it is, but I would be ok with that if the food was at least decent.

I don't know if there were bad cooks there today or what, but absolutely unacceptable. Will not come back. We waited patiently and didn't complain about the wait, so it wasn't them retaliating, I also left a generous tip, which you pay for at the time of order. Even tho it's literally a self serve place, they don't bring food to you or even offer any drinks, but I left a tip.

Disappointed is an understatement. 43 minute wait was treated like a normal thing too ... Could have at least given an extra tea spoon of mashed potatoes, or AT VERY LEAST...

I had Chef Lo On The Go last night for the first time, never heard of them before hand and it was AMAZING!! My bf and I ended up coming back again today because it was so good. I had the steak tacos with the chefs signature sauce and the chicken strips with fries. Let me tell you right now, best tacos and chicken strips we’ve ever had, hands down!! The customer service was great & so nice each time and helpful with recommendations on what to order. Not to mention Main St Food and Beverage is just a chill and nice place to hang out. I love finding local little spots like this and glad we found this one. We’ll definitely be back!! You have to go check them...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chef Lo On The Go, and I can confidently say it lives up to the incredible hype! The customer service was exceptional, earning a solid 10/10. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure every aspect of my meal was perfect.

As for the food, it was nothing short of outstanding—also a 10/10! Each dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. After hearing rave reviews about this place, I traveled two hours just to try it, and let me tell you, it was absolutely worth the journey.

Chef Lo On The Go is undoubtedly the best food in Evansville. I can't wait to return and explore more of...
