I hate to give this venue 1 star because it's a neat building, but the staff are TRASH. My girl friend brought a purse w/ shoulder strap about 12 inches long and only a few inches wide. Honestly pretty small. We were denied entry. I did go back to their website and purses over 6 inches are prohibited, but it wasn't on any emails and who honestly even thinks a little clutch is going to be banned. Anyway, that alone wouldn't have warranted a 2 star review except a couple came in right after us with a purse about the same size and they were admitted! The staff (taller, older woman) held up a sheet of paper and the other girls purse was as big as the sheet. So it was in the red section that was supposed to only be ok for clear bags. That couple was allowed to break the rules and go in anyway. It gets worse. The staff woman says they told her to direct people to the bus stop to use their lockers. I was frustrated because we took an uber there and had no car, so we walked to the bus stop and they were closed... We go back to the venue and let them know the bus stop she recommended was close, so she calls someone over on her radio and the next woman suggests we HIDE MY GIRLFRIEND'S PURSE IN AN ALLEY NEARBY. Seriously, one of the most ridiculous experiences at a venue where they selectively apply rules and give absolutely terrible suggestions. I hope they revise their policies, or at least do better about announcing unusual/extreme policies and then actually train their staff and equally...
Read moreBe prepared to be hassled by the staff and the over the top rules and regulations at this venue !!! The venue itself looks quite nice , but that’s all I can say positive about our experience here . Never in all my decades of 100’s of concert attendances have I seen so many rules and regulations for attending a concert . Missed the entire first part of the show because apparently there is a purse size regulation , and my girlfriend had to return her normal sized purse to the car , in the cold because the purse didn’t meet the “ purse size regulations “ . We almost didn’t get to go in the doors , as they locked the doors after the show started , and we had to pound on locked doors until someone unlocked the door for us and then the staff shamed us for being late . I could go on and on about the manners of which this place is set up to hassle you about something , but the point of this review is be advised that this venue is a nice looking place with over the top rules and a staff that seems to enjoy...
Read moreMy husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Victory Theatre. We went to see the Maestro of the Cinema: John Williams tribute orchestra event. I really wasn't sure what to expect with the event and venue- other than great score pieces. The inside of Victory Theatre is very regal and reminiscent of the old theatres that held musical and theater events centuries ago. They have clean restrooms and a good selection of drinks and some snacks from their concession stand, which is located on the main floor. The musicians were wonderful and extremely talented! It was amazing to hear them play classic pieces from movies that John Williams created the scores for.
I highly recommend getting tickets to events at Victory Theatre and to the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra if you have the chance; seeing a live orchestra is an experience unlike any other, and the conductor and musicians for the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra are truly wonderful! My husband and I look forward to seeing...
