Bargetown Market — Local services in Evansville

Highly discourage anyone to do business here. The management has poor judgment. We stopped in after seeing their menu on their FB page. We had never heard of them before and thought we’d try their “fresh salads”. We walked in during a pretty hectic time for them (a lot of signature students there for lunch) It was packed. We walked around trying to locate these fresh sandwiches and salads they had posted. I said “excuse me, sorry, excuse me” probably 20 times, being super polite as anyone would be. Hours later, this establishment posted video surveillance photos to Facebook, requesting the PUBLIC to identify us. You can’t imagine how mortified I was seeing my pictures on internet trying to be “identified”!! This was clearly a misunderstanding. I immediately reached out to them. Unfortunately, they did not respond until the following day, and it had already been shared 27 times. Their explanation as to WHY they posted it was because we walked around not buying anything and it looked “suspicious” to them. I was baffled to learn they would take it to the extreme of social media when there was ZERO evidence or proof of foul play or criminality. I asked them to post a clarification to their page and clear the miscommunication that was insinuated. No apology given....

Enter at your own risk. After seeing a post about their weekly lunch specials a couple people from our office went to check it out. They were looking around and sending pics of the food items to those of us watching the office. It was really busy at the time so they opted to go somewhere else. Only to find out from my friends sending me screen shots, that they decided to post security camera pics asking for help identifying these people to their Facebook page. The post was left up all night because they didn’t respond to messages (within an hour of the original post) and shared many times. The next morning they respond with it looked suspicious, they walked around (sending pics to us and checking out a place they have never been) stayed a long time (less than 10 mins but just waiting on us to decide) and left without buying anything (it was busy and loud in the store). This is a disgusting misuse of the power of Facebook. I stopped in for the coffee every morning until a rude man accosted me after frequenting this place daily for to go coffee and a sandwich. He told me to leave as I was making coffee with no other interaction b4. I said who are you. He claimed to own this store and said you r wasting my time. I said u r blocking the coffee.
